I believe he was referring to the blockheads from Gumby...geez...people these days...
That brings back lots of memories!
I wish I could say Gumby brought back alot of memories, but I was extremely young when I last saw it, all I remember is Gumby and his horse.

If your throat closes, putting oxygen in your mouth will not solve anything - as you will be introducing oxygen prior to the area of obstruction -

You either need to be intubated to bypass obstruction or create a stoma inferior to the the area of obstruction to survive
