Tencent announces partnership with The Pokemon Company for a new game

The massive publishing giant, Tencent, has announced that they've struck a deal with Nintendo's The Pokemon Company in order to develop a Pokemon game. In an official blog post, Tencent clarified that its subsidiary, TiMi Studio Group would be working on the project, though there was no explanation as to what platform this possible game would release on, or if it would be a spinoff. Considering TiMi previously worked on Call of Duty Mobile, it wouldn't be too farfetched to guess that this collaboration will lead to yet another mobile Pokemon spinoff. This wouldn't be the first time Tencent and Nintendo, or one of its studios, has teamed up; earlier this year, we saw Tencent agree to help Nintendo distribute the Nintendo Switch to the Chinese market.

Being 10 cent It's probably a online game only with purchasable content. I'm not really hating 10 cent but they have so much rule over mmo's and online games. They do have deep pockets though so We'll see where it goes.

I know it's not super likely, but considering the size of China's mobile market and weird offerings like the ique in the past - I am really hoping they release a more traditional Pokemon RPG

I don't really think mobile is a good platform for that, but I want something interesting and not another puzzle game
in my opinion once you get involved with mobile, i don't think you will lean towards 'traditional games'.

there was that mobile fire emblem game though, was that traditional or was it too 'mobile'? i didn't play but maybe we can gauge from that.

Never heard of that company before.

If you want to know one of the big reasons why some don't like the EGS, know that they own a pretty big share in Epic last I checked. Not majority necessarily, but you can't act like there's no influence at all with the level that they got invested into the company.

That, on top of everything else like there not being a fucking search function in a store that, if Epic were to be successful, God forbid, it will become a PITA to find said games.

When the PUBG mobile game came out is when I first heard of Tencent. I'm still shocked how this Chinese company is one of the biggest companies in the world, and I still didn't hear about it prior to that.

Wikipedia said:
Tencent is the world's largest gaming company, one of the world's most valuable technology companies, one of the world's largest social media companies, and one of the world's largest venture capital firms and investment corporations.

Doubt that this will be anything good ...

Same with Pokemon Masters, it looked nice but I just read an article about it from some people who could already try this and they said there is no pokemon catching and nothing, only fighting and you "pay" to get trainers with their team which you can use then and if you have them already they get leveld up -.-V
So you will probably need to pay millions to get that super special trainer which uses some legendaries and everyone else won't be able to beat you after that in pvp battle.

at least they seem to have some kind of single player "story" mode (still withouth catching any wild pokemon)

Would be funny if this was the first pokemon combined ARG and MMORPG. Granted I still don't know why Nintendo have not done that yet.

What's next? Pokemon Battle Royale?
Pokemon fighting with an increasing environmental pressure, and somewhat dependent upon the pickups obtained... but for the fact mine tend to feature Link that sounds like a lot of Smash Brothers matches I end up playing.

At least Tendent makes decent mobile games. Both PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty Mobile aren't half bad. They play like simplified versions of the actual games.

Tencent may likely be, not coincidentally, the price per pokeball in whatever game they produce. Please, please prove me wrong in saying that this is going to be another microtransaction mania.
