    Hi 'tempers,
We're trying for a little more community involvement on the next Tempcast, and you can help! If you have a mic, we invite you to submit an audio review that we can play on the next Tempcast. This would be a game review, of any game, for any system, past or present. If you've got a favorite game that don't get no love, now's your chance to illuminate the masses by telling us just what's so awesome about it.

    So, here's the deal:
    • It's got to be an mp3 file, that shouldn't be hard, right?
    • It's got to be between 30 and 60 seconds long.
    • You must move away from the mic to breath in.
    • Make it all nice-nice and send it as an attachment in an email to Tempcast{at}GBAtemp{dot}net
    • If you title your email Tempcast Review Entry, you'll stand out from the spam and we might be able to find it.
    • Oh, and don't forget to include your GBAtemp username in the email, so we know who you are.
    Simple really.

We'll collect 'em all up and play them on the next Tempcast. Spikey even has a steam key for Dirt 2 that he wants to give away to some lucky random person who enters, so if you're a PC gamer-type, there's a little extra stimulus for you.

Update: Due to the severe lack of review entries, we will be pushing back the deadline 12 hours until Saturday, February 20 at 11:30 AM GMT, 12 hours before the Tempcast.

Follow THIS LINK to find a city near you for your adjusted time and when that is for you. We will also be extending the maximum length allowed to 90 seconds. If you already submitted an entry, feel free to resubmit an extended or alternate version. Thanks for your attention and participation.

Goodnight, and have a pleasant tomorrow!

I do have a few games that I would like to voice my opinion about, but unfortunately, I have no mic. Oh well.

If I put any effort into such a review, I would NOT be submitting it here.
Call me when the tempcast is any good.

Maybe I'll try this (with my laptop mic or my headphone's mic), and good that its short because when I try to recommend something the more I talk about the less sense I make ;P

I think I might try my luck with this. Although as a suggestion: might it be a good idea to have the time frame as 30-90 seconds? I just feel that the minute limit is a tad too short.

Actually a good way to get clear audio is to film yourself with a digital camera and extract the audio [IMG]

While neatness counts to a degree, a lot of audio can be cleaned up and leveled, so don't worry if it's a little rough, send it in any damn way.

    This should be great.

To anyone thinking about not entering because of their lack of confidence in their own voice... forget about it! Seriously, take part and have some fun with this! Enter anyways, regardless of what you think others might say. If you're even debating in your head whether to do it or not, stop the debate and just go through with it. [IMG]

Run your voice through a filter if you're that scared.

    Sexy accent is sexy. [IMG]

I wish my first language was something else and that I spoke English with an accent. Instead, my only language is English and my problems speaking it look bad considering I don't have a sexy accent to cover it up. Anyways....

Most cameras (handheld or not) have shit quality audio without a mic. I've done tons of videos and they sound like shit if you don't use a microphone. Although most people don't have cameras that have mic jacks in them (well, you're run-of-the-mill handhelds don't) or tie-clip mics.

The best solution for is using a headset and pretty much any type of audio capture software. Practically every Windows OS has basic audio capture, and you can also use freeware like Audacity. My little lesson for today.

As for a review, I won't do a spoken one, but I can write a short interview for anyone interested in narrating it. Although odds are it'd be a recent game.

Actually, to be completely fair, a few cameras actually have decent audio quality (my Canon G9 being one of them).

That being said, recording using a mic/headset is a far better choice as it's easier to get a balanced volume and that most mics/headsets are decent unlike most camera mics.
