It's a shame, I was looking forward to this game. I've always preferred Tekken over SF.

By the time this game releases it will be a completely different game called Jin's Bad Hairgel Day, chock full of gore, poop, alcohol and bleeped out swear words.

You don't really need to imagine that at all, considering that's *exactly* what the OP says!

That was Street Fighter X Tekken by Capcom following SF mechanics. This one is Tekken X Street Fighter by Bandai Namco, following the Tekken mechanic.

It was announced waaaay back in 2010 and as you can read from the interview, the current state of fighting games does not call for an immediate release of the game. With SFV just released and Tekken 7 coming, it'll be hard to justify a crossover of the 2 games coming after those two releases.

That's what I'm saying. It won't sell well due to the competition already coming out.

I don't know if that'll affect sales all that much - cross-over games like this are novelties, main series entries are for competitive play. They can always stagger the release, too.

Releasing now most probably wouldn't be the best option, it could conflict with their audiences. But it's not that it won't sell nor that it won't appeal to any public. I for one really appreciate the concept of crossover between 2 major fighting games and would give it a go. And as Foxi put it, the main titles are for competitive play and/or die-hard fans. After the major releases have been around for some time would be a good time for a release. And since it's on hold and work has actually been done, a release is plausible.

well, maybe they should've worked on it back around 2010 then.

seriously, them saying its on hold is probably just cause they cant actually cancel the game due to some binding contract with capcom... it'll be on hold for the next decade

SFxTekken compares to this one was easier to develop since it's 2D and honestly has less movesets required for single character...

So creating a whole completely new high quality movesets for such large SF's roster IS A HELL-LIKE-CHALLENGE, and Bandainamco seems donesn't have enough of (human)resource to keep both project up to date at same time.

This is so true. Just take a look at the american and japanese Breath of Fire 1 (and 2) box arts. The american one seems something straight out of a Conan movie while the japanese is all colorful with cute girls.

Also, Kirby always gets angry in the box arts when he comes to the West.

  17. This feels like Mighty No. 9 v1.0 but back then I don't recall Bandai giving an estimate year of release so at least the customers never knew when to expect the game. Anyhow, if "Tekken X Street Fighter" is never released then they could still add SF characters to Tekken 7 via DLC.

    Edit:

    Not so.

Omg, I´ve just noticed that he isn´t angry on Epic Yarn´s box too! Maybe Kirby thought there was already enough hate on the Wii and WiiU...
