Xecuter has a lengthy track record of creating bios's to pair with their hardware. You could even flash them directly to the Xbox tsop, e.g. v4976.06 bios.
So yes, they do create CFW's.
As for modchips go this is a top class team. Going by history of iterations the solderless will be less reliable than the soldered and this will be reinforced by the mobility of the switch console. It's just the nature of the beast it's nearly impossible to create the same reliability in a solderless versus a soldered device.
As another person stated if this is a device that clips onto the legs of a flash ROM it will be more stable than a pogo pin design that uses pins to make contact with solder pads or vias.
Highly recommend getting the soldered version for stability and longevity.
I've known the xecutor guys for nearly two decades now so if I hear something I will pop in and let you guys know.
Question is really, are the current lot the same people when you were around on XS/XH ?

Well that's disappointing, as well as still no news or info.
Poeple would be crying if it was rushed and bricked consoles lol.. patience is a virtue
yep in the meantime i'll just buy games
Let's hope that it'll let you make and restore NAND dumps.
Yes, it is the same people. This is a full company, not some dude in a garage. There are engineers, designers and manufacturing/fabrication.
Knowing how these things go, I would temper your expectations. It will take a few months to finalize and fabricate the design for retail. For those of you thinking it will be ready in a week, please stop. These things always take time....as they should so that the product is adequately tested.
You would love to see that, wouldn't you? Getting your jollies up for a daily dose of schadenfreude? Well, I admit to that when people cheat online and get their consoles banned.
I'd only wish that upon my worst of enemies.
Good to know I'm a part of that demographic, then (especially given your smartass remark about how "the randomizer probably updated my Switch to past 4.1.0 for the 4.x.x exploit derr herr") but I digress.
(but he really might not care .. *inserts your gif here*)
