Team-Xecuter Presents SX OS v2.4 BETA

It's HERE! - TX Has Finally Done It! - Their SX OS Now Fully Supports v6.2!
SX24.jpg

Everyone been smashing their heads against the wall, and refreshing forums for over two weeks waiting, but no more do you have to wait as SX OS v2.4 is finally available for all Nintendo Switch owners to enjoy, and be able to update to v6.2 finally, its been a long wait, but as you read the change-log below you will quickly see that it was well worth the wait, and there is still more to come soon! :)
We are pleased to let you all know that SX OS v2.4 BETA is ready for release.

First of all, sorry to keep you waiting longer than we initially anticipated. We have been working around the clock to bring you this new release. We want SX OS to be synonymous in your mind with constant quality. We are here to stay and we are here to keep supporting your purchase till end of life.

Now, lets have a look at what v2.4 brings to the table:
  • Support for firmware 6.2.0
Nintendo threw us a small curve-ball while we were in the middle of reworking some other parts of SX OS. That being said, SX OS is now fully compatible with the latest official firmware 6.2.0.
  • EmuNAND functionality reworked
Our initial release of EmuNAND used a storage mechanism that wasn't what a lot of people were looking for. In our last release we decided to switch to using the microSD for EmuNAND storage, which in turn made some users that *did* like the old method of storing EmuNAND on the system NAND unhappy. We have reintroduced the support for EmuNAND-on-system-NAND as well as introduced a third storage method for your EmuNAND partition. You can now also opt to use a separate partition (as opposed to files in the regular (ex)FAT filesystem) as a storage backend for your EmuNAND. With three flavors of EmuNAND storage supported now, all of you can rejoice!

To recap, you now have three way of settings up EmuNAND now:
    • EmuNAND on system NAND: repurpose part of your Switch internal storage for EmuNAND
    • EmuNAND on microSD as partition: repartitions your microSD card with a separate EmuNAND partition
    • EmuNAND on microSD as files: EmuNAND is stored on microSD as files instead of repartitioning
WARNING: Setting up your EmuNAND as partition on your microSD card will format your microSD card. After setup nothing but the boot.dat and license.dat will remain.
  • Homebrew R button interfering with ingame L+R buttons fixed
In the last release we introduced a method of invoking the homebrew launcher for any title by holding down the [R] button during application/game startup, this gives homebrew additional capabilities that it wouldn't normally have. However, this seems to have caused some interference with some games, this has been fixed.
  • Embedded Homebrew Menu
Previously, you had to copy a `hbmenu.nro` file to your microSD card in order to use the homebrew launcher. This has been fully integrated into the SX OS boot.dat file now. Effectively this means all you need for setup is to copy our boot.dat file, simple!
That's all we have for now, people. That doesn't mean we're done. Its not over until we have liberated every single console out there. A lot of our current attention is focused on bringing you a solution for these "unhackable" switches. That does not mean we're not improving SX OS as well. Keep those feature requests and bug reports coming!
Enjoy the festivities this month, and don't forget to pick up a SX Pro / SX OS for your loved ones! :)

Sleep mode problem still not solved.
What was the sleep mode problem?

Does the installer do system updates too like choirdy? Also what is the huhbub with this hbmenu.nro? Why do they have two options? I thought the only difference between loading Homebrew through their thing and holding down R for hbmenu was just the branding.

The unique feature for this update was the partition option for emunand right?

On OFW 6.2 when you go on SxOS and go on sleep mode it freezes.

Holding R and hijacking an app to run homebrew gives it more resources and system permissions than just launching it from the main OS.

I gonna do a new thing this time around of people bickering. I will just ban you from this thread. Plain and simple.
No more "Haters gonna hate" nonsense, no more "TX stole sourcecode" nonsense.

We all know TX is gods (I'm being sarcastic) and we know TX steal sourcecode, and it's shitty of them (not sarcastic). I knew about blawar giving them the source code ages ago so it's all fine (@blawar time to make it opensource?)

So can we for ONCE keep a thread clear of this? It's generally annoying for everyone. TX will not care if you don't write on their forums or email them. You got to realize their whole business is about being shady.

So DZ isn't the squeeky clean "original project" blawar claims it is?

Weren't several functioning versions open source on github? I'm sure it would be easy for someone to post a screenshot proving it had copied code, but as far as I know it's all original.

1726 perfect matches, most are hactool and tinfoil, some libnx
Lets not get started about partial matches....

Are you sure these aren't just from shared libs? Of course those would be 100% identical. Same with some header/import code. Do you have the actual offending lines that don't fit in those two categories to show? Just curious, I don't care much either way.

No its not. Free options will be always more popular in majority. SX OS and TX is just constantly being spoken about. They are pretty much a buzz word.

SxOs is free though? You only have to pay for .xci loading I believe (and cheats maybe?). You can do everything the other cfws do for free too except the netcode plugin.

I'm about to mod my first Switch this weekend with an SX PRO. I'm a little confused about this issue. The way I understand it, putting the unit in Sleep Mode avoids having to insert the dongle each time, correct? So IF I put it in sleep mode, then the system will freeze?

My intent is to ONLY use SX OS, no need to go into OFW. I'd like to be able to avoid using the dongle for the most part.

It's not like I don't look at the code.
Also thousands of partial matches.

Libnx also was a different version for tinfoil, so unlikely to have a huge amount of perfect matches to begin with.
I don't have the idb with me, so can't look that up right now.

It used to be that if people ran OFW on 6.2 and Emunand on 6.1, sleep mode would crash the Switch. But I think that should be fine now.

I bet you could throw two books at it and get lots of partial matches, that's not a very strong argument... but it's fine, like I said, I don't really care xP

Im quite sure they are the most popular. Its super simple and clean. Not many people want to screw around with the ''superior'' options.

Not a SX OS owner but I was wondering, is it possible to update directly from their ''splash'' menu after the payload delivery?
