Team-Xecuter Presents SX INSTALLER v1.0

It was teased in the 'Features Showcase' video released by TX earlier this week, but now its available to download!
SX_Installer_App.jpg

As you all know by now, when TX released their SX OS v2.4 earlier this week, there was a video released alongside it, and in it people quickly noticed there was a new app called 'SX Installer', well it was not fully ready then, but now is available for all to enjoy! :)
After a successful SX OS launch earlier this week (to support firmware v6.2) many of our users were asking where the SX Installer was that was teased in our new 'Features Showcase' video that was also released. :)

With great excitement we present to you SX Installer v1.0 – Now Available for download at: –> sx.xecuter.com

This full featured app takes care of installs and so much more! In fact, an overview manual is now being prepared along with screenshots and detailed information on how you can better utilize all of the features we have packed into it.

This manual will be available on our SX Portal page when it is completed, in the meantime we have opened up a dedicated 'support forum' for the app, and have decided to release it now, to get it in the hands of our loyal SX OS users so you can right away start enjoying the many functions and features it has to offer.

Basically, at its core SX Installer is an advanced NSP Installer, that allows you to simply list, view, in one easy step, automatically install all your NSPs, along with the matching Game Updates, and DLC Packages, and these can be search and grabbed from many locations, including: FTP, HTTP, NUT Server (separate app on your PC), SD, USB HDD and NAND.

But that is not all it can do, as you can see from the quick overview below of the main functions. SX Installer has the ability to directly launch XCI games, and even launch your Classic Retro 'Game ROMs' for various different emulators installed, and of course your favorite homebrew apps. It even has a built-in file browser!
SX1.jpg SX2.jpg

PLEASE NOTE: (currently .xci launching is only supported in firmware 5.x or below – 6.x support is on it's way!)

To get started, unpack the downloaded sxinstaller.zip and move all of the contents to the root of your SD card. The "sx.nro" file should be stored in /switch/sx/

Below is just a quick overview of the main functions of our SX Installer App:
  • Ability to show titles in table view, or icon cover view.
  • Install NSP's from FTP, HTTP, NUT, SD, USB HDD, and NAND.
  • Ignores firmware requirement when installing.
  • Ability to queue multiple title installs.
  • Ability to search titles.
  • Ability to list and delete tickets.
  • Ability to export all title keys installed on the system.
  • Ability to overclock to install faster in some situations.
  • UI Translation into 12 languages.
  • Title meta-data translation into 12 languages.
  • Downloads and displays game artwork (internet connection required).
  • Ability to list, view, and delete application records (lets you uncleanly forcibly uninstall a DLC or update)
  • Ability to list installed titles, and launch them (launching is 5.x and below only)
  • Ability to list XCI's mount them, and auto-launch (launching is 5.x and below only)
  • Ability to list and install new games available, with the option to install all new games
  • Ability to automatically install the latest patch and all DLC with a game.
  • Ability to protect users from running malicious unsigned code accidentally by blocking all unsigned code installation unless explicitly enabled.
  • Ability to list and install newer updates available for your game(s), with the option to install all updates
  • Ability to list and install newer DLC available for your game(s), with the option to install all DLC
  • Ability to list all incomplete installs (like when the SD gets corrupted, or you swap SD cards without copying data), with option to reinstall all of them.
  • Ability to list and launch NES, SNES, N64, GB, GBA, SMS, SG, SCD, GG, and SG1000 RetroArch games.
  • List and launch Homebrew apps
  • File browser that lets you explore your file systems, delete files (SD only), and copy files (only SD is writable)
That's it for now! Have fun diving into all the cool features this app has to offer. Keep your eyes peeled for the full manual. It will be posted as soon as it's ready! :)

Kept saying invalid nca when I tried to install the smash dlc from Super_Smash_Bros_Ultimate_Fighters_Pass_DLC_Unlocker_NSW-VENOM, used the built in installer installer and went fine, (on 6.2 with 1.2.0 smash update)
also the "delete after" function doesn't seem to work as the nsp's are still on the card

Appreciate what exactly? What has TX really done for the Switch scene? All you TX fans argue that SXOS is sooo great with XCI, Cheats blah blah blah... But that's just it, that's all SX OS is. linuxares stated facts, this "installer" IS just a reskin of DZ something the community has had access to for a while now. But slap TX branding on it and you all open your mouths for TX's d**k.
It has nothing to do with “appreciating” individuals involved in the nsw scene! what I am getting at is appreciate what everyone puts forward for the nsw scene and let the end users decide on what they want to appreciate, if the end user wants to buy sxos products let them appreciate sxos, if they want to use Atmosphere then let them appreciate Atmosphere don’t go to threads like these and tell users why they shouldn’t bother because “it’s already been done” so what if they have bought TX products then if they have then they do appreciate the hard work that is put in by team xecuter to roll out new updates and let me tell you they do put plenty of long hours into making sxos better for the consumer so let them decide and by the way sucking “d**ks” all round and TX headquarteres is nothing new, did you not know that? that’s how they recruit new team members! It’s a quite well known fact nothing new there. Nothing wrong in trying a bit of c**k, it gets very boring being straight!

The delete after bug will be fixed in the next update. All "unlocker's" are junk NSP's, and should be avoided. Venom should be publicly shamed for even releasing such trash. That said, it should still install as long as you enable "install unsigned code".

Could you please elaborate on why Unlockers are junk NSPs? Whats wrong with them?

They aren't real Nintendo archives, so they will fail verification, they are just jumbles of (patched) files stuck together in a package.

Edit: and could contain malware.

isn't an 'unlocker' just dlc? what else could it be?
you install the dlc/the unlocker, and the dlc is unlocked.
i thought sometimes the word 'unlocker' is in the filename, sometimes not?

but what happens if they are real nintendo archives?
or, can we not have real dlc nsps for switch? (we had them for 3ds and they were fine, they could be real etc)
maybe switch works differently

I think he means hand made unlockers, and not real DLC .cia's like on 3DS. Handmade ones could contain malicious code, I guess?

Its just DZ with a TX paint job xD

I thought DZ does not allow install of NSP's that fail signature check? If that is the case, then it is not just a new paint job.

Some people dump on TX. But to be fair they make it really simple. You don't need to generate key files with other apps and other steps just to use their installer, you don't have to keep track of all the drama to determine what app is what. You just copy it over and your done. It just works for the most part.

So real nintendo DLC:
a) has a real valid title id
b) is signed by nintendo, and can be verified as such so you know it contains no malicious code.

The problem is:
a) unlockers create new junk title id's to install on your system.
b) they arent signed by nintendo
c) they are extremely easy for nintendo and the game developer to determine its fake dlc and gimp the game. There has been at least one instance I have heard of, of a game developer looking for hacks.

I am guessing the reason the scene groups do this is vanity:
a) to discourage other groups from copying their releases.
b) make it appear as though they are actually doing work rather than just basically publishing title keys, especially when a lot of these groups just grab public title keys and "release"
c) its possible they dont want to buy the DLC to get the title key, so they RE'd the game to see which placeholder files its looking for to enable the DLC.

Either way its garbage, and they should be publicly shamed for it. Suxxors is another bad example of this.

My wanted features request for this app:

-Make it as an NSP file so we can install and access it via the main switch menu.

-Sorting options (by name, by date, etc).

-Tab management, show and hide desirable and unwanted tabs on the game list and please add firmware and trimmed tab so we can know which game require what firmware and which are trimmed or not. Developer/publisher tab would also be welcome.

-Add renaming files.

-Support for split files.

-Firmware update, restore and backup like ChoiDujour.

-Savedata backup and restore like checkpoint because why not.

-Scan entire directory for game files (example: /sxos/xci/FOLDER WITH GAME NAME/gamefile.xci instead of /sxos/xci/gamefile.xci) so as you can see the directory will very according to the game name on the folder.

it already does sorting, press the + button.

Just a reminder to everyone that this exists:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/lgma-use-google-drive-with-dz-to-download-your-games.521996/

and that if you see "something you like" in someone else's Google Drive, right-click it (ctrl-click for multiple) and choose "copy/add to my drive" and when the little popup appears click "organize" and you can send it to whatever folder you want in your drive... ;)
It wont work for me the switch errors out booting the installer up. Good idea!
