Oh man you have no idea how many times people come back to me to update their switch after accidentally updating their sysnand or some kid delete/overwrites files on sd card. Some of them don't even have a computer and only have a phone/tablet.

With HATS AIO pack i just need to tell them to download the zip file, rename/delete switch/bootloader/atmosphere folders on sd card, extract the zip file, put the sd card back in, and that's it. Especially with the new sigpatch implementation since 18.0 aio pack really saves a lot of time/money for many people
Oh man you have no idea how many times people come back to me to update their switch after using HATS or AIO. They cause more headaches than they solve and I've been serving as tech support in this forum longer than you. Manual is always better.

AIO does break tons of things

Especially the homebrew app it (used?) to have

But HATS? I don’t think I’ve seen many have headaches with hats for a change. Stehex does good work, and doesn’t just push things out half assed

I really think yall are on some holier than thou high horse. But it’s not my life

What works for you works and what works for others well works for them

It’s silly and ridiculous that whenever a comment comes up about people mentioning HATS that yall come out of the woodwork just to shit on it because you feel special you do it manually

This is the being vegan of switch homebrew. Yall gotta make it known that you set things up manually when no one asked and HATS works so consistently for others

Tell me what problems aio pack can cause, I can't think of any (properly made ones of course, not those made by random youtuber or those packs without sigpatches cause "nO PirACy"). Delete old atmosphere/switch/bootloader folders, unzip the aio and overwrite payload.bin, worked every single time for everyone i told to do so.

Besides doing everything manually doesn't result in anything different, you still end up with the same file from the same github release page.

Better yet, why download pre-compiled binaries when you can pull the source code and compile everything yourself? Only thing it does is wasting more of your time

The proof is in the pudding and you don't work tech support enough to know that HATS has caused its own fair share of problems. There is no such thing as idiotproof because the world will simply make a stronger idiot. As other people have stated in the thread, HATS and similar packs are not the solution.

Ok now you are just repeating yourself and throwing big words

Name one problem aio pack causes to support your claim. Does it cause crash on boot? No cause I always tell people do delete atmosphere/switch folder so title patches/exefs patches for old fw are replaced with new ones. Does it cause sigpatch errors? No cause again old ones are completely deleted and replaced with new ones, but I did see many people putting sigpatches to wrong folder or didn't change the ini file to include them when they try do download things manually though.

Again if downloading everything manually is somehow superior than using aio pack, then I'd say people should be setting up build environments and compile everything from the source themselves, instead of download pre-combiled binaries.

Again, I've been serving as tech support here on this forum and HATS pack has caused numerous issues. I'm not the only user on this thread who is against supporting it. Not to mention the humongous elephant in the room that you cannot even link it here making it even more tricky to troubleshoot. It has caused crashing and patching errors in the past that have always been resolved by switching to manually reconfiguring the files.

I'd be all for compiling binaries if it was more user-friendly but that involves opening a whole other can of worms. SDSetup was arguably the best middleground as it always compiled the latest builds automatically for you while allowing users to pick and choose what they want but unfortunately it was shut down.

And my dog ate my homework back in the days when I was a kid. I know the stories.

No one cares about this.
Such an angry little boy huh. Yes people care. I know how not do it all manually but with a family and job and 3 switches this saves a ton of time. Not everyone sits in there room all day at their parents house and plays video games. This is a very useful tool

The only All-in-One package you will ever need.

What is DeepSea?

DeepSea is an All-in-One custom firmware package for your Switch. It includes the latest version of Atmosphere and Hekate, aswell as very useful homebrew applications to get you started. All you need to do is to extract the zip you think suits you best to the root of your sd-card and push the included hekate payload. If you dont know how to hack your switch yet, head over to switch.homebrew.guide and hack your Switch first.

Why should i use DeepSea?

The Homebrews we provide are not just packed together in a zip. We modified configs, replaced files, created new ones and much more to create a flawless and well tested experience. If you know your stuff and want more freedom, this package might not be for you. But if you are new to the scene and have no idea where to start, we definitely provide the tools you need. We are working hard to create or own homebrews aswell as working with other developers to integrate our work into other systems. Join our Discord-server to get help with any problem you have (using DeepSea or not) and any homebrew.

What are DeepSeas features?

  • Background FTP server for filetransfers
  • Install NSP, NSZ, XCI & XCZ files from Harddrive, Google Drive, WLAN or wired through PC, Smartphone, etc
  • Over & Underclocking
  • Update OFW & CFW through homebrew
  • Find new homebrew through the Appstore
  • Savegame management
  • Cheating in games (please dont cheat online)
  • Emulate Amiibos
  • Use all kinds of 3rd party controllers
  • Lan play (like Hamachi for your Switch)
  • Tesla overlay to controll all those features (press L1+DpadDown+RightStick)
For a complete list on the included homebrews, please check our Github page.

Got it. Well. Whats the best way to merge the latest atmo into the deepsea I have now? I can prob just replace the files on my SD with the latest sig patches and atmo right?
