The original Japanese release the music files were .brstm, but this time around, they are .ssd. Any idea on how to replace them? Or would it just be not possible unless someone figures out the file type? Should I even try replacing one song with a .brstm? Please let me know asap.

    Well it´s out [IMG]
Anyway you need to figure the file format out yourself (as usuall for most rom hacking stuff and so)

I had just recently found out they replaced the specific character themes. Would be great if there would be some way to change it back like the JPN version but that would seem like a lot of work.

    Right Behind You! Uh Oh!
use Wii Scrubber to extract the sounds and replace them....use this tool to make a MP3 into format so that you can replace them with ease rather than having to use some sht command based crap with no gui smarten up noobcakes!

But that's only for .brstm, not for .ssd..

It would seem your best bet is to somehow convert the ssd files to brstm and then replace them. If you can find away to do that it would probably be very easy.

All I want from the sound track is the orbital ring BGM

Oribital Ring stage and its music is amazing. i like the training theme also. it sure would be awesome to put some old themes in UAS like Ken the Eagles theme or megaman volnutts theme in his stage. i sure wouldn't mind extra colors for the characters either

The idea is, give to stages some music, like:
    - In Galactor's Base, the music that Ken the Eagle had.
    - In Yatterman's Stage, the Yatterman-1 music.
    - Give other musics to other stages, like in Daigo Temple Night, Ryu music, and the other Daigo Temple Stage, the Kajin no Soki music.

But first, we need to know about .ssd, and how to use it.

    WAIT A MINUTE!
Why the creator of this post says that JP Tatsunoko vs Capcom was using .brstm if ALL sound files in both version USES .ssd?
We need only to know what music file is which and replace it!

I tried, but there's no way to know which file is which. They're labled differently, so unless you had a way to play them from the pc it would take days to figure out.

    Try this if you can:
    - Swap sounds files in us/snd/stream/, like:
stage_17.ssd, and all files that have the same name as the JP version.
    - Try if you can load the game and if you notice some changes.
    - Also, you can swap the other files: s_bgm_XX.ssd with the others.
    - In JP version, the files called dro, boy and taz are the Dorombo trio voices in menu.

I tried this with Wiiscrubber, and i cannot load it with CFG USB Loader.
Try if you have more luck.

I'm doing a test now for those interested. If I notice a change I'll post it on gbatemp as a patch.

Is there anyway someone can send me a cheat file with everything unlocked so I can do a sound test instead of manually?

You don't need a save, because by default all stages are open.

Yes, but a sound test option (Which I think this game has) would be uber helpful for comparisons sake. Here's what I noticed from the get go.

The stage music does not appear to have been changed.

The opening song that plays after the first cutscene is in Japanese, as well as the characters now say "Tatsunoko vs. Capcom!" unlike the English version where the announcer say it.

That's all I noticed. I haven't had the game for long enough to know if anything else is different which is why I ask for a cheat file.
