Over a year ago I bought Tales of Symphonia HD since I loved it on the GameCube. On the PS3 I never got past getting the sorcerer's ring. That was until a few days ago when I started playing it again.
Watching a graphics comparison on YouTube the PS3 remaster is a clear improvement, but there is so much more that could have been done. The speaking animation sucks and the textures really leave something to be desired.
The characters when zoomed in look quite pixelated and some of the stuff in the background stands out for being ugly.
Its still a good game and I'm enjoying it, but its incomplete. Putting in more high-res textures and improving a few of the outstandingly bad animations would have made a big difference. It seems as though the remaster was designed to make money using minimal resources rather than making a whole hearted attempt to improve the game.
