I just bought a second N3DS and installed a9lh on it. I have my older N3DS with the old method of emuNAND on Cakes. Both are on the latest firmware. Would it brick or anything if I were to do a system transfer from my Cakes emuNAND to the a9lh sysNAND that's on my newer N3DS? I want to transfer things like my Miis and spotpass encounters, and maybe my NNID. I already have my game saves backed up, but not those things.

Yep you can system transfer normally. Choose the manual move option, and when it's done copy over the files from the old console's SD to the new console's SD (make sure to keep all the a9lh files). And it should be done.

No, unfortunately not. I'm not sure what happens if you region-change the destination system to match the source system though. Probably related to whether you can access eShop or not.

By "transfer all the files," do you just mean the Nintendo 3DS folder that has all the game titles?

Yes, and anything else you want to keep (eg screenshots or folders from homebrew programs etc)

hmmm... Just realize my N3DS folder takes up 28GB with all the stuff I've got installed, and my big SD is now being used for a9lh. Is it possible to put everything but the Nintendo 3DS folder into a smaller SD and then do the transfer still, or must I have it in the SD (my smaller SD cards are 4GB so it can't fit). Is there a specific file in the Nintendo 3DS folder that I can copy to my smaller SD solely to do the system transfer, so I can just move the rest with all the titles onto the big SD once the transfer's complete?

You need to have everything on the source system at the time of the system transfer otherwise it won't change the encryption to match the new console. Net effect is you'll lose access to any games or saves not on the console at the right time. Homebrew stuff won't be affected though so you can freely back that up somewhere and delete it off you card.
