Hello, I'm a little confused.
Sorry if it's a stupid question, but do you need to have the switch connected to the internet? I understand that if you connect to the internet with CFW Nintendo could ban you

I've been using this on my eMMC and it's perfectly safe to use as long as you take standard precautions with exosphere and even then I doubt this would get you banned. Still running perfectly as of 18.1.0 as well, would love to see this updated or forked one day!
So, the program itself works fine, but there's no text, yes, it fulfills its function of being able to use controls connected from my PC to the switch, but it is really uncomfortable that the text boxes are empty for some reason, do you know what the solution could be?

Something with your computer, mines never done that.
You could try right clicking on client-rs.exe choose compatibility change high DPI settings and click/unclick the two boxes try different combinations and hit apply see if it helps. Other than that try another version of client-rs or you could use command line. That's about all I know to suggest. I don't use the GUI I use autohotkey where I can just hit a keyboard key and it launches and starts. I could help you try that if you want.

First hold shift key in the folder that has client-rs right click on an empty space and choose "open powershell window here"
type set_server_ip (your Switch's ip) and hit enter (leave off the parenthesis just put in your Switch's ip only after set_server_ip) and hit enter, you can close this window for now.
save the document as whatever you want to call it .ahk, then right click the document and compile script. This is your ahk script that you should be able to just double click any time and it should run client-rs, if you want a keyboard key, this would be by hitting enter on the right of your keyboard where your numbers are. Keep in mind any time you use that enter key it will run client-rs, let me know if you want to use another key.
Code:
HotKey, NumpadEnter, LaunchUpdate
return
LaunchUpdate:
run, "Change this to whatever you called the first script.exe"
send stop{enter}
sleep 50
send start{enter}
;...any code you need...
return
Hit Windows Key + R and type in shell:startup make a shortcut of this second script and throw it in there. Now upon boot you can just hit that enter key and it will start the client.
Let me know if you get stuck on any of this.

Just don't call the first script client-rs.ahk and then make it into client-rs.exe there's already a client-rs.exe that you need. Call it anything but that, you can even do client rs.ahk notice the space.
Used this the other night to play MP: Jamboree with friends and it was great for the most part! I do wish the dev would come back and fix some of the bugs with the client or the module itself but this is still my favorite piece of software.
Something weird is happening today. Client RS is surviving me putting the Switch to sleep and letting me wake it up with the home button of my PC controller. That's never happened before I don't think or am I wrong is it supposed to happen?

Guess I don't understand why this thread is mostly dead. Nobody wants to use controllers that are hooked up to your PC on your Switch? I use it every day.
If anyone even looks at this thread or uses this anymore can someone do me a favor. Connect client rs have the controller working. Put the Switch to sleep, then try to wake up the Switch by hitting the home button (doesn't matter if docked or not docked) while still being connected to client rs. Does it work for you? Try it a few times, try holding the home button, then spam hitting it a few times and post if it works or not. It works for me sometimes and others it doesn't.
Supposedly there is no such thing as being able to wake the Switch from anything except official joycons. But I'm doing it with a Wii U Pro that's connected to my PC using mayflash magic-ns and client rs. I just wish it would work every time.
If it doesn't work try to turn on the Switch however then instead of hitting home button to put it to sleep on the options on the bottom choose sleep mode and put it to sleep that way, make sure client rs is running and try to turn it on using the home button on your PC controller whatever that is that way.
Anyone else having problems where connecting 4 controllers automatically sets it to 8 controllers connected on the Switch and the inputs stop working on all of them? Can't figure out what the problem would be..

Oof. That's not looking good. Would be good if they at least put some FAQ & troubleshooting pages up; rather than ask somebody who clearly knows very little about the subject.
