Hacking Question SXOS - Worked Fine, now goes to black screen - what can I do?

Hello, first time poster - not sure what to try next.

I've been using SXOS without AutoRCM in a dual setup with regular nand and emunand.

It's been working great until recently, and now when I try to boot custom fw, I see the nintendo logo briefly, and then a black screen. I have to hold power for 12 seconds before I can try to boot it again, so it seems to just drop back to RCM mode.

What I've tried so far:

• Charged the dongle
• Updated SXOS to v2.6.1 from v2.5.3
• Copied everything off the SDCard and did a quick format (still exFAT, too big for FAT32) and copied everything back

The only thing that changed that I can think of:

• Updated OFW for Super Mario Maker (was at latest necessary for minecraft prior).

Is that update what killed me? Any work arounds? I'll keep searching the forums, but any help is appreciated! Thanks!

You should grab SX OS 2.8, that is the latest beta build.

yup 2.8 supports 8.1 OFW.

Well, no shit. I'll give it a shot. I thought with the Emunand stuff that it didn't matter what version the OFW was.

Ahhh crud....no luck. Any other ideas or should I just wait until it's out of beta? Either way, thanks for the help.

Try deleting your themes of your sd card if you’re using them, reboot.
