Hacking SX Pro Dongle Defective After 4 Uses?

Not using the dongle. I can can get into custom or ofw by holding + but I can't use the dongle to run the payload

Ok in stock mode does dongle charge or atleast go green ?

Okay so I plugged it into the Switch, and did actually get a blinking green light. Problem was, it seemed kinda....weak I guess? And sporadic. After around 5 -7 seconds, the light just went off. Is the light supposed to turn solid green?

If ur green your good. if it turns of it prob didnt have to load the payload so turned off..

Maybe try booting from that little shit now and see if he will have it leqve it plugged in till u get into menu if it works

Hello:

I got my dongle today, and it worked great the first 3 times I booted up. I added some more backups on my card and went to boot up again, but I got nothing, and no green light. I figured it just needed to charge, so I used the USB cable they sent to charge it, and I'm getting a flashing red light but it won't turn green. I know it's supposed to charge after 5 seconds or so, but I got nothing even after letting it charge longer.

Anyone run into this? Could it be defective, or should I let it charge longer?

That's the mistake I made, until Canna set me straight lol. Once I listened to Canna, I was headed for greener pastures.

So yours not flashing red anymore. I did everything he mentions but that wasn't never the problem it's with dongle it self. Hook to the computer flashes red and on the switch it takes a second than flashes red and sometimes it's steady red than flashes red

Also try this for me and leave it plugged in.

Step1 Hold power on switch 20 secs make sure its completely powered down
Step2 Plug in Usb from pc to dongle,
Srep3 Launch tegragui and load the payload i posted earlier.
Step4 Now put your switch into rcm mode with Jig volume + power on

Or if you have auto rcm ignore step 4 and just press power on.

Step 5 Plug in the dongle that is still connected to pc into switch

Step 6 watch tegra as you do this to see if it sends payload

Step 7 Does it boot ? If so let me know.... Also please make sure you have boot.dat on your sd card still

Ah, I see. If you need help booting without the dongle (with TegraRCM via your PC) just let me know and I'll walk you through it. That's what I ended up doing when I thought my dongle was dead, and it works great.

I boot it without the dongle was a way to fix the dongle it self. I have my license already on sd card before the dongle crash so I can boot using my phone or pc. But I thought was a way to fix the dongle

Ah okay gotcha, good to know you're at least able to boot via PC/Phone

Notice any light changes ?

If you still having issue @Mikep90

I recommend You contact the seller were you bought it and ask them for a replacement
Tell them nothing Just tell them that it will no longer work,but say your friends dongle works fine..
And sort a replacement with them..
Under no circumstances Open the unit cause your void your warranty.and capacitors are dangerous budd

Im sorry i cannot help you any more...

I feel personally the issues your describing
i belive the faults maybe related to
1 the caps are bad or solder joints
2 the payload got corrupt some how

Keep me informed anyway budd on this thread..
This is why i made my own dongle cost me £11 //$ 14

why dont you make your own

I bought two parts a Gemma MO and a Battery cell holder wired 3v to plus and ground to minus
Connected it to pc placed the sx os payload on it ( i got the special file if you do this il give it to you)
Placed a battery in it. cr2032. Plug it into switch with micro usb to usb c cable turn switch on hit the switch on dongle and boom payload sent instant and disconnect it

i got one as a backup in case my sx pro craps out. 20 bucks isnt too bad... The trinket is like 9 bucks and the coin cell holder like 3...so for someone else to solder, wire and glue it for me was worth the extra 10 bucks


also rebug is making a dongle that I wanna test out as well once it is released.
