Hacking SX OS - apply firmware update from XCI

hi, is there a way to apply a firmware update from a XCI so i dont end with the latest one.
I'm actually on 3.0.1 and tried to start kirby to install the 4.1 but i'm only getting a cart error when loading.. thank you.

I know this is an old thread, but I am wondering the same thing - is it possible to update firmware via an xci?

Thanks I saw the ChoiDujourx method after I posted. I’m still reading as I’m not sure about how to preserve game cart fuse using SXOS (going from 3.0.2 to 4.1.0).
