I've got an SX core coming in the mail to install onto my V1 switch. I was looking into attaching the mod via conductive paint/glue rather than soldering as a less destructive/permanent solution. I doubt anyone had tested this before, but would anyone have any reason why this wouldn't work? with the v1 cable, the pads pretty much touch the caps as it is, so this would really just be more of a way to hold them together than a true solder.
The product I plan to use is linked bellow it's listed at a resistance of "0.02 - 0.1 ohms/cm2." would this affect the chip at all or is this tiny amount of resistance fine?

First, before you do with me what you did with the colleague posts above, I am graduated in electronic engineering. I'm on the 20th Switch mod ...

Second, conductive glue is not to be used the way you wanted to test it, it corrodes surfaces with which the glue components have chemical affinity and fixes. It is not suitable for flats with a copper fixing base, they are used for fixing non-metallic contacts or graphite-based contacts. All you would get would be a very badly installed mod, with the risk of brick if it has not landed correctly.

Third, black screen? At Nand or Emunand? If it's on nand, check the boot.dat version and the firmware version you have on the switch. The Last Update of the Switch gives a black screen if you have an old version of sxos (boot.dat). On their website there is a beta there that solves your problem. Black Screen in emunand, Remove the sd card. If you have a BS, check your welding work. If not, check your memory card using H2testw, use another one as a test formatted in FAT32. If it persists, try FAT. None of these worked? Consider checking your welding work. I suggest microscope if you have. There is not? Take a macro photo with your phone and be pessimistic. If it looks like shit, it's shit.

Probably should have read the whole thread.
The conductive varnish I had found was specifically designed for repairing traces, broken contacts and lifted pads directly onto pcbs. I believe your thinking of wire glue, which is a product I decided against before even opening this thread. The product I was looking at is varnish and therefore shouldn't chemically react with the surfaces at all, it just fills in the area and hardens.
I couldn't purchase the item anyways, wouldn't have caused much issue if it had failed though.

I never had a black screen issue, I had a no power issue which was caused by a short from the CPU shield which is no fixed. I've been using my switch for the past 2 days with no issues and even got Hekate to boot despite my SD card reader only reporting 1bit.

Thanks for you opinions though, even if they are a bit too late :)

Dude, you should have read the SX installation manual before doing what you want. If they who were in charge of designing the chip recommend soldering with tin and soldering iron, do it the way it says there, I see no need to look for another alternative that was not previously tested. The damage is done, hope you can revive your switch.

btw I installed the chip by soldering and nowadays it continues working without problems
