    Hello,

I've got my Switch lite back with the SX lite inside ... I'd like to use emunand instead of my Sysnand (actually on 8.0 firmware).
what about updating the emuNAND under SX os ? with 3.0.4 Sx os firmware and 1.3 sx lite firmware ?

Compatible now ? no more bricks ?

    Thanks

    Honestly,

I'm not sure why you'd want to go through the hassle of keeping a low firmware on sysnand.

You have installed a (basically) permanent modchip in your switch that is guaranteed to work with the latest firmware right now (10.1.0).

I understand wanting to keep a low fuse count on a V1 switch, but for Lites and Mariko units I don't see the point if you already have a chip installed.

I'd say just update the sysnand to the latest firmware and then create an emunand from that.

But yes, if you have a fully updated chip firmware and the latest SX boot.dat, you can use Choidujour safely.

So no more incompatibilities whith the lastest firmwares ?
Btw you are probably right, but I do not know why I still prefer to stay at the lowet sysNAND firmware possible.

and thanks for your answer above ;)

Well from what I understand it isn't compatible, per se. It works, but the tool (Choidujour) hasn't been updated in more than a year so it doesn't support the new modchips / new units.

That being said, it will work - SX has apparently looked into it and corrects the error (by a firmware update to the chip, along with a SX boot.date update) that was causing the chipped systems to not boot after using Choirdujour.

So for the end user, yes, it "works".

Yes, that's it. If you are on SX OS 3.0.4 on emuNand, ChoiDujourNX is "working" to update your CFW.
In reality, using ChoiDujourNX will brick your Switch Mariko during the update, but at the first boot, the SX Core with firmware v1.3 will unbrick the Switch and boot to your updated CFW.
It is invisible for the end-user, but waiting for an official update of Choi, or an alternative tool, there is still this soft-brick which is happening.

I wonder if we will see a Choi update before an alternative, glad there is a work around in place for the moment though.

This guy usually has really good videos but take his comments about the SX Lite/Core with a grain of salt, he's been saying some wild stuff.

Well, for instance, this video is a follow up video to a one that he made about it being fine to use choidujournx on sysnand.

His comments on that one were weird, too. Saying most people don't use Emunand so if wasn't important - a few other things.

Also, in the early days of switch, he was having people update sysnand with no mention of the fuse protections Nintendo had implemented. Not that there was a huge fallout because of this or anything, but it was an important detail to leave out of his firmware update tutorial.

Got it, thanks for the info

I'll be honest his (now removed) SX Lite/Core installation videos were quite good

Good to mention that you have to be on the latest beta otherwise Choi will brick the SxLite
