Got my Core today but no license
Note: You must have an to play any of your Switch backups
So do i need to buy the code elsewere or what.
When you boot up for the first time, it will create a license request file. You upload it to the Xecuter license site and download a license file and place it on the sdcard. That's it.

Not needed to buy any license. Once you have your SX Core installed and running, it will create a license request file on your SD Card. Just go to the SX OS license activator page, upload this request file and they will send you the activation file, then put it in your SD Card and you're good to go.

Do you got a link all i could find when i googled the activation site was a site that ends with .ROCKS
i have no idea how it works since there's no option to upload anything.

Is it all done from within the switch?

Going well practicing flux makes a big difference, I bought one of those £5 usb only irons a while back for cold soldering wires with cheap solder.

Managed this with 0.6 rosin and smd flux , with ample light no magnification just eyeballing
Disregard the tip needs a good clean but if the switches smd are larger than this so be more confident and careful and you will pull it off with the right tools.

If I can successfully solder onto pads this small the switches smd will be a cinch. As long as I dont desolder them constantly lmao 20200619_201653.jpg 20200619_201737.jpg 20200619_201825.jpg

Ok, what can I say??

My SX Core is "Out for Delivery" at this moment, so I started to diassemble my Switch. I have everything ready for the chip. I wanted to start BEFORE the chip arrives because I know I could spend more time cleaning. And I think I did a good job.

But, the solder points are smaller than I thought...

A few weeks back, I took apart an old PC DVD drive. Then I did some soldering tests on the smaller component I could find. And it was really small. But the Switch component is almost half of the size of the smaller component that I could find in the DVD drive.

I'll not give up, I just wanted to share my thoughts.

Once the Core arrives and I finish the installation, I'll share pictures of the final result.

Fingers crossed! ;-)
Waiting for the pics....please....thanks

yanwen was rated to be slightly faster, was the same price as standard on txswitch

Nice then I also ordered it from txswitch with yanwen as well .. I crossfingers to have it asap :)

But I'm still have a doubt with the license, do they send you the code or is autogenerated uploading the file sx boot generates?

just like sx pro, the license is built in and a request.dat is auto generated for you to activate.

FINALLY!

After almost having a heart attack because the Switch was not turning on nor the chip had any lights (I forgot to plug the chip to the NAND connector. duh..), it's finally running! I don't think my soldering was perfect, but at least it is working. I would say 8/10 soldering job.

I'm now dumping my nand.

Now I have to learn everything about SXOS, like how to install games, updating the Emunand offline, etc... Does anyone know where can I get this information? As satanicangel has just said 3 messages back, most homebrew tools will brick the console, so I'm really worried about this...

Thanks!
Thanks a lot my friend....did you use some flux and what about your soldering iron pin is it very thin....please advise...and thanks again

you're going to want a 1mm or smaller tip for this job and always use flux. no flux has more of a chance to fail

If your throat closes, putting oxygen in your mouth will not solve anything - as you will be introducing oxygen prior to the area of obstruction

  • x65943 @ x65943:
You either need to be intubated to bypass obstruction or create a stoma inferior to the the area of obstruction to survive
