Hacking Sx Core and Sx Lite , test Units Received

Sorry because I'm sure some of this has been asked but I haven't been following the news lately. If I buy an SX lite do you also have to buy the OS? Can you use a different OS like Atmosphere? Is it even possible to activate the OS now with whatever is going on with SX?

For the Switch Lite currently only sx will work.
SX activation cannot be done upfront, must be done after the core chip is installed.

Thanks, do you get the OS with the modchip? Can it still be activated? Also for people who bought off aliexpress can you link the listing? I see one on aliexpress rn and it is having a sale which is why I'm considering getting one now.

The license is with the modchip. Activation should work as long as the servers are up and running.

I found one site that asks you to upload the license-request.dat is that the right one? Seems to be up.

Okay guys, I had fun and now it's a total mess. When I turn on the console, the light is red and steady. The backlight of the screen turns on but the screen stay black. I think they are shorts, I hope cap are still fine.
I have to buy a new soldering tip. I'm also ordering a desoldering mesh.

UPDATE: The switch is dead, a cap looks burned and the screen stays totally off. CPU gets also very very hot. RIP poor little switch. You didn't live long enough to celebrate your first birthday.

And what about classic switch ? I am pretty concerned of future of sx os so it is safer to use atmosphere IMHO.

All V1 Erista models are supported my Atmo. V2 Mariko currently not but I think the community is working in the background on that too, so I'd expect they will be supported in future as well....

Most likely its not communicating with nand. This means that one of the solder points (one of the ones on the upper side) has broken. You have to open it and check them

The one between the two screws... a friend of mine "broke" it and sometimes works and some not
