Installers need to stop advertising on gbatemp. Nintendo have been getting moderators to delete peoples comments. Also, multiple people have already gotten cease and desist letters. I would not trust gbatemp to not hand over personal info to Nintendo.

Incorrect, we haven't handed over anything. Since we're in no obligation to do it. We actually only removed comments when the actual author asked us to delete them because said company tell THEM to remove all their correspondence.

These type of services does not constitute crime as long as you limit yourself to soldering/modifying hardware. The console is yours and you can solder whatever you want on it. Crime is to use backups of games you don't own. Nintendo is doing it's job protecting its business. The thing is that they do it threatening people but if they go to court there's nothing to rely on...

Anyway installers should also be more discret to not expose themselves and customers here and other forums. You should limit these things to other secure means that currently exist

We got a section where people need X amount of posts. They should probably on kept it in there.

honestly i think that was a bad move, and a slippery slope i would have told them to fuck off, because now where will they stop? honestly i am sure they would like to request 90% or more threads on this site be removed , i would not have given them an inch

He's putting the firmware on the chip and installing the SX OS on the Switch's. There's a reason the TX website isn't allowed to be linked here. It contains copyrighted Nintendo software/keys.

If he was able to install the chip and that's it, and made the end user do everything software wise, then he might have a leg to stand on. But again, you need funds to fight a lawsuit. Even if you are in the right.

You're free to start your own install service and fight Nintendo if you want.

but yeah he was selling the chips too essentially i provided my own but i did see that he was offering instal packages with the chip included

He deleted the account, not Gbatemp closed his account, that is his choice we got to respect him for that. True that Squee666 also got a cease and desist but he didn't close his account.

Maybe he no longer wanted to give support to people sending him messages about chips/installs.

The best way to just be done with everything is to just delete your account.

I'd say its better not to speculate and let's stick to the fact that's he's not around that's bc an important reason...

I even requested any vouches for my repairs etc removed because even if the site they used for reference was another i may as well remove traces they could use.

But yeah the most i can do now is repair switches and replace sp1 and sp2 smds that people have damaged.

I can do console mods in the sense that If I was sent a switch/switch lite

I could solder the flex cables / nand flex and replace the thermal.

But physically installing the chip itself i cannot you would have to attach that yourself to the flex and screw the console together.
Same for the switch lite chip you would have to solder the last 2 points which is easy.

Obviously I would charge less. Like £35 + postage costs for this kind of job since all I'm doing is soldering a flex that a user sends me.
And prob the going rate if it was a repair to sp1/sp2 ontop

This would be doable as I would have no involvement in actual tpm bypasses as I had not touched said device and the software required to setup it isn't involved with me.

Maybe if atmosphere actually did a release for sxcore/lite. I would go back doing full at the normal rate installs as it doesn't really violate anything

I mean i've done both. I'm just saying not being able to see pins versus being able to see everything you solder makes it harder. or at least more annoying. Then you have to see if it is the power chip or usb port, so there is more troubleshooting involved. I wouldn't say either are tremendously hard, I was just saying that most people can probably learn how to do the chip themselves with relatively inexpensive equipment. Where with a usb port you need a hot air rework station. your comment is like saying a pizza is as easy to make as a pb and j you just need more ingredients and an oven.

Advise you to buy a digital microscope, flux, good quality soder (0,5 mm) and mx4 thermal paste. It was a 2h30 job for me and must be done with calm. You can follow modzvilleusa guide on youtube
