There are no clones as yet, you can still buy the real thing. If someone makes clones and they are any good then you should be able to boot either sxos or atmosphere:

There are plenty of hackable switches out there. We would have more but they wanted the lolz of releasing fusee gelee too early.

I can see people in China cloning them since the sxOS ones use proprietary Nintendo stuff. I doubt any credible person in the switch hacking community would even think of making a clone, unless someone figures out a way to remove the need for proprietary Nintendo keys and stuff. I just hope they don't pull a "Hermes" like they did with the PS3 jig and they put a developer's name on the product, who had nothing to do with the product. I think the developer left the community after that.

We an sx alternative, not a clone, we need something that’s open and able to use other payloads aside from Sx payload, is you just wanna run sx os then there’s no need for clones just but the originals. As stated in the previous post you can find them if you look hard enough, I did

I think you're misunderstanding what's meant by "clone" here (language barrier perhaps?), in technology terms "clone" is more about achieving the same result through the same means, a "clone" doesn't necessarily have to be using the same software. 4eg a Supercard DSOne is considered a "R4 clone" even though it runs different software and etcetera than an original R4 card, or how a Titan One is a CronusMax clone. In the same vein, the inevitable "SX Clone" will be achieving the same result the SX Core/Lite does through the same means, bypassing the Switch's security by glitching the security processor into an exploitable invalid state without crashing the whole system.

Ninty's Legal forces will fucking ROAST anyone who makes an "exact clone" (That being one that boots the same SXOS bootloader and SXOS itself) that isn't hidden deep enough in china, and even then the future of SXOS is already seeming grim to me at least, and with clones we sometimes see cuts of the quality for budget reasons which might mean a more dangerous chip that could be unstable, missing stuff like the Debug port (Which would also mean said clone would NEVER be able to use anything outside the sxos boatloader and not even reflash the chip's firmware if shit goes wrong) or even activate that brick code that apparently is a thing. as for clones that implement that custom firmware for the chip that Sceries made when it goes public and allow the booting of Atmosphere/other payloads would possibly be slightly safer but still in dangerous legal area due to modchips being a bought product/service that goes against a megacorporation's TOS. In spite of this maybe a year or so, maybe a clone could end up becoming it's own thing for the rumored switch pro...

To be fair Fusee was coming out one way or another. Several groups had found it independently and it was bad because it effected more than just the Switch (Shield TV, Tesla entertainment system, Google Pixel C, etc). I don't think we ever found out who the leaker was because it was posted anonymously on paste bin but iirc F0F said that they had planned to release it two days after the leak anyway plus they had already reported it to Google and iirc Ktemkin had already reported it to Nvidia and Nintendo.

Even if it was missing the debug port you could update the chip via the Switch it's self. I doubt they would just stick Xecuter's launcher on it though if an alternative is available. As for the brick code, it is included in the boot.dat file not the payload.bin file so that wouldn't be a problem since boot.dat isn't on the chip it's self. I don't think including the launcher or not would effect how Nitty's layers see them because all the illegal shit is in boot.dat afaik and the chip it's self bypasses the TPM which is what makes the chip illegal. Don't ask me why using hardware to bypass the TPM is illegal but using software bugs is fine, it's just what I heard they said in ReSwitched and I don't even know what the Trusted Platform Module does, I thought it was just a thing to verify Windows on personal computers.

Believe or not, you get much better protection buying on Aliexpress than eBay. Aliexpress holds the fund for up to 90 days before releasing it to seller or until you confirm the transaction. There is no way a seller can run away with your money. Any time there is a dispute, their customer service always tend to side with buyer unless your claim rate is too high(much more than eBay does). Just make sure you video record unboxing and you should be fine. I have purchased thousands of dollars on Aliexpress and never had a single issue.

I don't know about better than eBay, on eBay you can return just about anything for any reason, and if you disagree about the condition of what you ordered matching the description all you have to do is take pictures and point to the description and the seller gets to eat scat pie. Better than GearBest though? Definitely. There's nothing more annoying than a seller sitting on both the $800 and the product for 4 months making repeated promises that "we'll deliver, no really!" while they update with another shipping tag China Post says doesn't exist.

There's a public reference tool for Blake2B hashing (literally @ blake2(.)net), just put your discord name and number (with the hash) in a txt file, save, and then hit it with the tool. The output without any extra options is correct for getting in.

It's not that using software bugs is fine, it only became criminal because TX was commercial.
The law that says you can't bypass TPM, also covers atmosphere as well.

TPM has nothing to do with verifying windows, it's for securing keys to prevent access by unauthorized users of those keys. Neither Atmosphere or TX is an authorized user of the keys.

If they went after Atmosphere then it could just go underground, it's harder to do that with TX as you need to buy it from somewhere & because it's criminal they can rely on law enforcement agencies to help them.

Unless you want to navigate buying from taobao, AliExpress is the usual place to look for modchips. Some sellers may claim to still have the original TX chips, maybe you'd get lucky.
