Hacking Switching a M3 player from Phat to lite

I'm thinking about getting a DS lite instead of phat. I heard there is an overhang when you put the movie plater/sandisk into slot of the DS lite. Any truth to this and does it really matter?

Erm, it takes away from the sleekness of the DS Lite.
It hangs out just like a regular GameBoy Advance game would.

Doesn't really matter much.
