Hopefully it won't cause them too much trouble. I was just about to get everything done but thought I'd upgrade firmware first and just my luck Nintendo releases new firmware just as I press the upgrade button -_-Dev of Atmosphere said he will have time to start work with update on wed/Thursday.
Someone in another thread said yesMigSwitch works?

there a a few games where u must have the firmware installedWhat's the point of updating firmware on an emulator?

and firmware = performace? but i dont know?
Well you'd be wrong because the point of emuMMC is to be on a different firmware than sysMMC. Look at people who have patched consoles on 4.1 that have to use Deja Vu to load CFW. If they update sysMMC, they will lose out on their exploit and ability to load CFW without a modchip. The whole nonsense of using it as a "ban-shield" is a concept the community invented and not one the developers endorse.maybe newbie question. If I have OFW 18.1 clean and emuNAND atmosphere + Hekate over FW18.1
Could I update OFW without any risk, I mean no ban risk but something for the future as recover a backup or whatever?
Is it worth update emuNAND while everything works like a charm?
I bet to answer: No and No, just to be sure
As I understand it I guess that I work in a dual system that never mix at all so, emuNAND incognito mode and blocked nintendo server never is going to claim to update and while it works I could stay for ever In that point. In the other hand OFW is clean and I want to maintain clean so I could make whatever Nintendo offer to do so better update without doubt

Yes you can. The only concern is if a future fw upgrade also upgrades the gameslot firmware then you won't be able to use gamecarts in emummc if you don't update that as well. But that hasn't happened for quite some time so I don't think that is something to worry about anymoreI don't understand your post at all.
I have a v1 console with software patch, no chip. I have a sd with emuNAND and clean stock firmware in console. They works separately and it's as I want to be for the future. So, can I update OFW as Nintendo purpose and stay stuck in emuNAND in 18.1 and atmosphere 1.7.1 for ever as it is no worth the update by the moment, is it?
My post was meant to give context as to the true purpose of emuMMC which is to be on different firmware versions. As for whether its worth updating or not, that's up to you. The only benefit of updating sysMMC is to play newer games retail as well as go online and access the eShop. If those sound tantalizing to you, then go ahead and update; as I explained, emuMMC is meant to work if sysMMC is on a different firmware.I don't understand your post at all.
