As noted here:

https://hackerone.com/nintendo/hack...ter=type:all to:nintendo&page=1&range=forever

There is a vulnerability report closed 3 days ago (as of writing).

Perhaps there is something that is fixed in v4.0.X where firmwares >= v3.0.1 may have?

I'm saying "v4.0.X" in the title is because I'm not sure if v4.0.0 still has the vulnerability, or v4.0.1 fixes it? I'm not knowledgeable enough to predict, but it's still worth a discussion.

They released 4.0.1 very soon after 4.0 (literally 2-3 days) which is pretty suspicious. They say it was for HDMI enhancements, but I think there may have been something serious for them to have to commit another code change so soon after a major version release.

All major patches (+features) have a 3+ week cert process. If they had a major flaw in 4.0.0, they would likely not have pushed it out and then patch it one week after, a bug patch could have a much shorter cert time if it is a very minor touch up. Its possible but its a bit of a weird order of operations on their end.

Well, the HDMI thing was actually a big flaw for a lot of people, because their TVs were no longer working with Switch.

If you want Homebrew stay as lower as possible with your console, even if right now there are no exploit for those fw they can always popup in the future. It's always been like this people should have known it, this is the number 1 rule.

Knowing my luck either a hack wont be out until years down the line or I update and they release it the next day.

To play MO or not to play MO, that is the question.
