Yeah forget the shield. The main aliminium cast chassis GNDs everything

Possible. But may be a slightly different board revision or filter cap for regional purposes, or angle of the light catching it...

Yeah probably the angle of light, best for him to quickly check this though, SMD components of that size drive me mad, they're very delicate; though easily replaced.

forgot to add, I cross checked some other pictures, still looks cracked, really hoping it isn't this since; unless he's good with a hot air station or iron, it'll be a pain.

Yep. The caps are tougher than resistors. Absolutely correct. Easily replaced.

I'm not good with figuring the value since my multimeter is trash but mattyrog may be able to check it and repair it for you; I'd be happy to repair it if that's the case and the value can be given, I'll do it for postage cost and part cost only since I want to show the community a gesture of goodwill so I can start doing modchip installs from trust of the community.

Yep. That would do it. Well spotted Tariq! Just need the value now measured out of circuit. Will have a look on a scrap board tomorrow. Can`t tonight. Everyone in bed :(

@Rain82 PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don`t attempt to bridge it. It could be a filter cap going between V+ & GND - Result instant death.

But more than likely, it is being used for decoupling or timing.

Can`t measure resistance on a capacitor, esp in a DC circuit! Meaningless almost! Measure reactance in an AC circuit, sure... But its all DC here sir!

We need old Mick Faraday... Georg Ohm just can`t handle it right now!

You can also summon Joseph Fourier to aid with a frequency response analysis to infer the capacitance.

Nice idea! But the man seems obsessed with Greenhouses and Gases... Is he growing Tomatoes? Using Fart to power a heater for them?

    ;)

There is way to much thermal paste on that! remove it clean it up remember a little bit goes a long way. Next Is like everyone else is stating make sure everything is seated correctly including the NAND chip.
Also dumb question here but did you replace the homebrew files the CFW to be exact? Reason why I ask is if the SD card was miss-seated it could have corrupted it.

I have the same problem. Exactly the same. Have you found solution? Or maybe values of those SMD elements?
