Seems like you might have skipped a few steps?

step 2 below creates the /bootloader/payloads/ directory by unzipping Hekate.
step 4 below puts fusee.bin in the /bootloader/payloads/ directory/

1. Extract atmosphere-x.xx.x-master-xxxxxxxx+hbl-x.x.x+hbmenu-x.x.x.zip to the root of your SD card.
2. Extract hekate_ctcaer_x.x.x_Nyx_x.x.x.zip to the root of your SD card.
3. Extract SigPatches.zip to the root of your SD card.
4. Move fusee.bin to your /bootloader/payloads/ folder.
5. Delete the fusee-primary.bin file in your /bootloader/payloads/ folder.
6. Delete the sept folder in the root of your SD card.
7. Navigate back to your /bootloader/ folder.
8. Overwrite the contents of your hekate_ipl.ini file with one of the following configurations:

I don't find that guide to be very good. I recommend following this guide instead. Its basically one of the first Switch hacking guides so its guaranteed to work.

Thanks to that guide I got to the conclusion that partition based emuMMC was the issue, and doing the file based solved it. Thank you.

got it installed and running now :3 just need to figure out how to move saves from sysnand to hacked then back again. while getting retro arch up running. just trying to take it easy and safely best can right now. any thing else should check over and such to be sure? ect. uhmm seem to hit a snag but not sure were i dont see any apps that are on the sd card to use or or how to install that is?

Good deal! You're all set really.

Only big-ticket item to go back and check is that your emunand is in fact blocked before you throw any games on it.

You should have exosphere and dns:mitm installed similar to the second article in this list: https://rentry.org/HomebrewAndMisc

• Check your System -> Settings -> Serial Number to make sure exosphere is blocking it out (all numbers should be 0s)
• Drop https://github.com/meganukebmp/Switch_90DNS_tester in your /switch directory so you can run it and ensure that everything comes back blocked (green).

hey Binky made sure the exosphere and dns:mitm are installed right it seems with the serial being 0's but i dont understand how to get any thing in the switch folder to work at all? don't see any way to install any thing since it a mirror copy like you said but the system is whining about needing a update since cant check the the system info to see if running in atmosphere so for now just turn the default theme to white. is there something i am missing when launching to cfw or hekate? the more i look into this the more it feel like i screwed up some were but so not sure were?

if your talking about all the eshop games copied from the sysnand to your new emunand, you can do 1 of 2 things,

1: Edit the config file "X:\emuMMC\emummc.ini" and replace the line "nintendo_path=emuMMC/RAW1/Nintendo" with "nintendo_path=Nintendo".

2: Copy your "X:\Nintendo" folder to "X:\emuMMC\RAW1\Nintendo". however, this method takes up alot of sd card space bc its copying the installed sysnand games to emunand where as method 1 is just a redirect.

Hey Chaosta what i was referring to was when your done with modding the switch and load into atmosphere is there not to be a homebrew menu or something to get access to install or something for something like tinfoil ect. that were i am getting lost here sicne i did a copy from 14,0.0 then installed to 14.1.0 for sysnand after hacked idk were i when wrong with the game being physical carts yes there is only 3 that are digital on my lis needed to be updated as well too so i found out so tired right now going to sleep will come back here and see what can do ect.

Almost there. A few things to understand and do.

• Check to make sure that when you hit CFW in Hekate you are actually in Atmosphere and are actually on your Emunand. Do this by going to Settings -> System -> System Update.

You should see something like this:​

14.1.0 | AMS 1.3.1E

First number is HOS Firmware version​

AMS means we’re on Atmosphere with the numbers afterward being the Version​

Letter (E)munand or (S)ysnand…we want to see E at the end.​

• To install homebrew (such as 90DNS tester) you typically copy the .nro file to /switch/ OR copy the directory containing the .nro file to /switch. Sometimes they will tell you to copy over /config files or unzip something to the rood of the sd card. End of day it‘s just getting the .nro to /switch.
• Once you have some homebrew (.nro files) “installed” in /switch you can run it in two different modes:
  • applet mode: this will allow you to run smaller homebrew that doesn’t consume a lot of memory. Simply click your Album icon and it should take you to the Homebrew menu. If it takes you to photos, back out to main menu, press and hold the (R) shoulder button and click the album again. You can run a lot in this mode but some things might crash due to lack of System resources. You will be able to run 90DNS Tester in this mode. Press (home) button to exit HB Menu.
  • title override mode: the gives you the most compute resources to run apps. Press and hold (R) by clicking on a game title. Keep holding (R) through all additional selections of User Profiles, etc., etc. in other words hold (R) until you see HB Menu pop up. Once in HB Menu, navigate to the icon for the HB you want to run and click. Once done just press (home) button to exit. (Read more about title override configs here…the beginning of the thread is good info too)
• To execute title override you will need an installed title. If you already have a title installed due to having something in Sysnand when yiu made the copy to Emunand you can skip this step. If not, read on…. Disclaimer: Make sure your Prodinfo/Serial Number is blanked out with 0s and 90DNS Tester is coming back blocked before you proceed. To install your first title you will need a quick and dirty installer. Highly recommend Tinwoo or Goldleaf installers for this exercise. Both have good README.md files on their GitHub page somjust follow the instructions to install and restore a backup. Once installed you will need to source a backup game file in the form of an .nro or .xci. I can’t/won’t link to those here. Be resourceful. Google is your friend.

That should do it. Some folks like to install DBI or Tinfoil installers. I run several myself. They each have their pros and cons as well as some unique features. You don’t have to chose just one.

I recently migrated from sxos to atmopshere and for the most part, I had no problems. But when getting to Settings in the main menu (I want to change Language) the game triggers this error (it runs games/homebrews without a hitch). What must I do to fix this?

it’s close to a common issue with themes, but just a little different...

The themes fix is to delete the following directory:

/atmosphere/contents/0100000000001000

give that a shot and see if it fixes things.

Error mentions Archive Bit. Are you on a Mac?

1. Boot into Hekate (Power) then tap (Vol -) during splash screen
2. Click Tools (top middle)
3. Tap on Arch Bit • RCM • Touch • Pkg 1/2 (bottom right)
4. Click Fix Archive Bit (upper left)
5. Let process finish….will take a while
6. Click ☒Close (upper right)
7. Tap HOME (upper left)
8. Hit Reboot (bottom right)

Correct. You cannot copy files larger than 4G to a FAT32 sd card. That said, you don't need to copy the file to the file system to install games larger than 4G. Tinfoil knows how to split large files to install them on your sd card automatically when you install over USB. Install 90DNS tester just to make sure everything is blocked and double check that you see 14.1.0 | AMS 1.3.1E as your system version and I think you’re all set.

go to the link above and go to releases and download the Switch_90DNS_tester.nro and put it in /switch/ directory on your sd card.

to open Home Brew Menu hold down the (R) button and select one of yiur installed games…keep holding it while selecting your user profile/closing other game/etc until you see the homebrew menu. You will see the 90DNS Tester app. Click to run and you’re done. To exit just click (Home) key.

Goldleaf can reset the update error. It installs in /switch/ just like my other homebrew.

Wow…you went from awful to awesome!

You might want to upgrade Firmware to 14.1.0 using Darth Sternie Firmware (can’t link to copyright files so Google it) and Daybreak (homebrew app that should already be installed).
