No, he was doing everything right. It was you who is doing something wrong by using a website to check serial numbers which is not recommended. Its a well known fact that all sites to check serial numbers are vastly outdated and chock full of misinformation. This is definitive proof of that. The one and only place to check serial numbers is and will always be the first post of this thread. I hope you learned your lesson today.

Lol go bump so threads as you usually do.

Either the first page is wrong or the serial number checking tools like https://ismyswitchpatched.com/ and https://damota.me/ssnc/checker/ is wrong.

One say possibly patch and other says unpatched so hard to tell.

Serial: XAJ1002549xxxx
Serial on device matches serial on box: N/A - (Second hand)
Region: Europe
Firmware: 14.1.1(Don't know the original fw)
Color option: N/A
Was a bundle (if yes, which): N/A
Purchase date: 14th May 2022
Fusée Gelée works: Yes

According to OP's post, this serial is potentially patched, but according to the spreadsheet, there are reports of XAJ1002xxx serials still not patched. Guess I had my luck.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
