Hey! ...sooo lovely day isn't it? This may be a stupid, utterly retarded question to ask but Nintendo's releasing a Black Friday bundle where They include a GEN 1 switch alongside a copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Do you think that these switches may be Ipatched? 99.9 percent of me thinks it's true, but there's that 0.01 percent clinging on to hope for unpatched switches.

Unless it's a batch that has been lying in some storage, they are most likely patched.
But just check the serial number on the box.

If there is a return policy, you could check if its on firmware 4.1.0 (I think the serial checker site will tell you what possible firmware it comes with). There is an exploit for 4.1.0 which works for the ipatched ones. I got one for a decent price and dont regret it. You just have to be careful and not connect to Nintendo servers on sysnand, otherwise youll get hit with a super nag to update (which will lock you out from using cfw)

or get a mariko one for better battery life and potentially higher clocks and wait until (or if) the mod chips come.

I have a feeling Nintendo's already patched out all exploits via the mariko by now
Getting CFW on Mariko will probably take like 5 years

not necessarly if it's a glitching chip they (nintendo) will probably have a new revision that has to be made to combat the exploit

No, some timing glitches are patchable. So if this solution from TX is a glitch chip they must force people to use Emunand only and let Sysnand be left alone.

It depends on what point during the boot the glitch is triggered. If it's during the part that nintendo can't patch after the switch leaves the factory then will probably be able to update sysnand, if it's done later then you'll probably have to use emunand after nintendo patches it.

In either case nintendo will probably be able to release new hardware to avoid glitching, but they'll have to purchase a modchip from TX first.
