I used this guy's script (https://github.com/ItsDeidara/DNSwitch) with an Apache server running on Ubuntu.
It does the exact same thing in TV mode. I haven't tried lower res. video's yet though.

If you haven't tried lower resolutions then most likely the partially implemented browser for router authentication doesn't have video playing capabilities (from a dev's perspective, why would it?)

The switch is known to panic and crash when loading MP4's. I noticed it myself when developing DNSwitch with visual studio

It uses the Tegra X1, right (or some custom form of it)? The base of those can handle 4K HEVC/h265 videos from what I recall.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.

Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.+1

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
