I just found out my teacher's friend works at Nintendo.

I'm related, but here is a interesting topic:

Do you know anyone who is in the video games industry?

I used to train karate with one of Nintendo's marketing employees.

I got lots of free games from him and got to play the Gameboy Advance 6 months before it got released.

Haven't seen him for years though.

My friend's dad (who I know very well) who designs websites knows a guy at EA. He got him free copies of Fight Night for the 360 and some PSP game.

    My cousin works for Microsoft.

We got an Xbox on launch date and free games!

And any other games we wanted for Xbox were only 20 dollars. [IMG]

But, unfortunately, we never talk to him anymore.

I used to date a chick who reviewed games for a living, so we got a load of freebies ... also, and this is going back a ways, I used to have a group of friends who were all testers, and they used to sneak stuff out for me.

I can't really say, only thing I can say is that I can get US Nintendo games for free from said person.

That sounds great. How did they become testers?

One of them was dating someone at the company, and got a job, when an opening came up ... then, every time another opening appeared, she got her friends jobs there.

    - My room mate has worked for ubisoft for over a year (not anymore though) at the marketing department in Paris.
    - One of my friends is lead tester at universal mobile games. I applied for a job there, got accepted, but ended up declining the offer (for personal reasons).
    - Some guy I know from another forum runs a small development studio for GBA and probably NDS now.
    - Someone on GBAtemp -I don't think I'm allowed to tell who this person is- wrote commercial video game walkthroughs and guides.

    I think that's about it...

Wow... you guys are lucky. I don't know anyone like that personally. I just know the fact that there are a few guys in my Java course who went to work for places like that for co-op. I really wanted to get into the gaming industry myself, but a lot of people keep telling me not to and it's not like what I imagined and keep putting me off...

I worked with Team17 for my work experience. Their headquarters is based in Ossett, Wakefield, which is REALLY close to where i live.

My next step is to try and infiltrate RARE's studios.
