As lame as before.

Agreed. I love my SC and all but all they did was change picture on the bottom and SLIGHTLY altered the skin. For instance, look at the top screen...THey are still using the GBA screen resolution as the SC was originally designed for. Thats y that black bar is across the bottom. In either case, since my SC is not RUMBLE, lol, I probably wont get this fancier looking interface in my update

Lame.

Supercard needs to get off its ass and do the following:

1) Get 100% GBA support
2) Rumble (uhh, ok)
3) Change the interface to utilize BOTH screen (top and bottom)
4) Keep the current interface, but use both screens.
5) Upgrade to FAT32

After that, it'd be nearly perfect.

they'd fix the GBA rom support only if they change the cheapass ram they've been using for the past two years.. It'd fix everything though still leaves pre-existing users in the dust..

No offence but the SC menu is a great one. The fact pissess me off that people want "cool" looking interface aka a picture monster with a bad and slow usability. Do you really stare the goddamn menu all the time? If a real UI designer would take a look at the SCL they would say it is perfect. If you really think so much of a picture monster you should try to design a good UI with monster pictures yourself. There are certain laws that are not supposed to be bended just because some say that "we need piczzz!11". The Chinese people tend to study hard and 24//, I can tell that they have done their respective homework and can design a working, well usable and fast UI without any extra jerkoff features that would do no good. Their message is that if you don't like it - don't buy it. Simple.

"Wanna know something about designing a working User-Interface?

Which doesn't represent a good UI?

1. ”I like using this product!”
2. ”An attractive and good looking user
interface!”
3. ”I had no installation problems!”
4. ”I can easily find the right selections!”
5. ”We have eliminated wrong deliveries
with our new logistics software!”

The answer is number... 2.

That is what the Ph.D of our department taught us during the first lecture of UI Designing. He also taught that when the UI has some nice graphical looks and so on the usability suffers. The main thing of a good UI is the usability, the entire point of designing UIs is the fact that certain laws of designing are not bent and the interaction between the user and the used device stays in the biggest role.

With a freaking picture monster the above wouldn't happen. "

I will agree with this, I think the supercard's simplistic/speedy interface is great and there isn't a need to skin this/skin that to sacrafice useability and speed.

I want a better interface. But I don't want fancy graphics.

I would prefer the option to be able to just see the name of the game without the file extensions and for the font to be narrower so that games with longer names don't get clipped.

I would also prefer if I could just to the bottom of the list when I hit the page down button when on the last page of the list.

It wouldn't hurt if it was possible to use both screens for the menu either. Or at least get rid of the black bar on the one screen when using a DS.

None of those are big or difficult changes (unless there's some sort of limitation I'm totally unaware of).

Regards,
Michal

I wouldn't mind a small improvement to the interface, where a really long file name bleeds off the edge of the screen when highlighted to scroll and show the full name, but that's it.

Please, begging you Romman don't go the pretty pretty route, no icons and no gay backgrounds, for god sake keep one flash cart free of gayness.

btw, if GBA got 100% fixed then the price will rise to the same level or higher than the laMe3, if people need 100% GBA support rather than 90% then let them get the laMe3 or the G6small.

Yeah, I completely agree that the current Supercard menu is nearly perfect. I don't want to see a splash screen, I don't want to select from cheesy icons ripped from windows just to get to a list of games on the card, I just want to see the files and select one of them. The only way it could be improved is, as has already been suggested in this thread, bymaking use of both screens and the full DS resolution. Personally I like the font the way it is - I just rename the roms if the pertinent part of the name doesn't fit on the screen. Could probably lose the numbers to the left of the game title, though, they don't serve any particularly useful purpose and just take up space that could be used for filenames.
