@fli guy84: It's no big deal, I'm sure that'll be fixed once the OS'll be updated to moonshell 1.6
@rkenshin: It depends on where & when you got yours from.
Now the price is the same as that of an M3S.
@Farami9: Did miss something or are you reading a different pros /cons section than I do? I can't find such a thing as "freebies" in the review.
- I've got something else o say concerning that matter: do you think everybody has got a micro SD card reader, SD reader, or a laptop with built-in reader card? Even if it does, you'll still need the SD adapter to plug the micro SD in the card reader.. so would you agree with me that have a 2 cents card reader would be better. It doesn't matter to me if it breaks straight after you fire it up, what matters to me is that should be ready to start using your flashkit
right away .
@Deadmon: My ratings are different from those of the previous reviews, so keep that in mind when assessing the card.
Read the review thoroughly aswell as the Pros/Cons section and think this:
- Is there something here that'd piss me off, something I wouldn't like to see in that card or you have been much appreciated? If so compare this card ( the SC DS with other slot-1 cards) & see it's any better or not.
If it does, it's a no brainer that it deseves a better rating. I strongly advise you to skim through past slot-1 development flashkits review to make sure your opinon is a fair one.
@faceless: unfortunately it ain't be a joke: it's painful when you've got two roms which start with the same sequence:
say: abcdefghsomething and abcdefghsomethingelse both files will have the same shorter name: abcdefg~.sav
Now tell me how come you'd be able to differentiate between these two.
I've got something else to say concerning that matter, I didn't write it down because I was short on time, but if you want to be sure you are converting your slot-2 saves correctly to b used with the SC DS, you gotta play with a clean save first then copy the saver's filename.
Now consider the ease of use for the end user: wouldn't it better if he weren't to worry about converting savers. wouldn't it be better if save files had the same name as the roms ? The obvious answer is yes.
@ kenfrenzy: Do you think on should keep his eyes peeled on a website looking for a save size for an ultra recent game to find out there's none yet :
- rom name : something -
- save size : TBC.
Now to change the save size it's super easy by itself, but how would figure it out if not by guessing: hit and miss... :S (trust me there are plenty of save sizes in that change size menu, I wouldn't ejoy wasting my time figuring out which setting to use)
If you enable patch mode on the card, compatibility is screwed up, try it with the latest OS.
If you enable patching download play would most certainly break & why buy a slot-1 the first place if not for the "clean rom" mode ?
Genuine cards run true clean roms & save in real time.
Yeah better not happen to you, make sure you've got plenty of space left (0.25 MB X # of roms on your card) , to be safe make it 0.5 MB instead.
@M3LV1N: I were you, I'd wait a bit more to see what happens with these newcomers:
Acekard + and
Supercard "v2.0" aswell as the
G6DS / M3Real.
Better keep your bucks in your purse for now, just an advice though.
@falcon64z8: well if you can purchase an R4 for 30 euros, then go for it, that's the current price of the SC DS as of we speak
@[Jez] : if you were to assess the card's strenhts & weaknesses aswell as compare it other slot-1 flashkits reviewed already, you'll find out that the 8.5 if fair.
@ancient_imhotep: I think they're reworking the hardware part, so the SC DS will be back order for a month, untill they release that new card.
It would be nice it they were to offer the upgrade free of charge (Acekard team will do the same so with the Acekard+).
