Hacking Super Paper Mario Freezes

I have started chapter 2-2 and entered Merlee's house.
I visited all the rooms.
When I talk to Mimi, She starts talking, then the game freezes, with a constant tone where the music froze as well.

Is there anything I can do?

Clean disc. If that doesnt work reburn to reliable media.

As kedest said and linked, here's the solution written on that page:

"If you pick up the key, you won’t run into any problems. Use it to open the locked door to Mimi’s right. However, if you talk to Mimi without picking up the key, the game will freeze. You will then have to turn off your Wii console and start again from your last save point."

The room with the ceiling... that comes down. Go 3D, hop on it, wait for it to rise, find chest, grab key, be done with the bug.
