I cant get it to boot, it comes up in the disc channel (corp installed) but when i start it it resets the wii, so thats why i ask if it works on soft mod, any reference i have found on the net is people with hard mods, but nothing about soft mods

the difference between hardmod and softmod is that softmod requires IOS patching (CIOSCORP is a tool that patches all existing IOS to enable backup readings)

the thing is, this is a GC BootDisc and GC disc do not use normal IOS, they use MIOS.
So you need to have run MIOS patcher as well, did you ? Otherwise it might be a corrupted image, very common.

Another solution would be not to use this outdated GC emu version , to put your roms on SD or USB HD and to use the latest version which have complete Wii support.

Mios patcher ok, i have it on my sd card, i didnt try that, i am guessing i need a fat32 partition on my hard drive, i only have wbfs, if i was to re-do my hdd do i put the fat32 partition first or 2nd, i read it needs to be primary/active

primary/active, WBFS is a custom File Format, it was created for the only purpose of USB loaders and is not recognized by anything else

just store all the roms on sd card snex9x gx supports hdsc so you can store up to 16gb of roms and saves.
