GCN Super Mario Sunshine - Blue circle surrounding the screen!

I have started to play Sunshine for the first time on my Wii, and sometimes I notice a blue circle surrounding the screen, does anyone know what this is? It's kinda annoying, I first thought it was some "treasure alert" thing.... but I can't find anything!

HELP, I'M GOING CRAZY!!

It does, The blue thing is only there when I look in specific directions, So when I rotate the camera just a LITTLE bit it will fade away.

Judging by the shadow over Mario you're right next to a house, when the camera is obstructed by one it will do that, perfectly normal:


I'd add funny annotations to it, but it's late already

But still, I don't really understand why Nintendo added it. Does it have any effect on the camera? Does it stop me from Zooming out, or...?

No it's just for you: to see what's behind the wall and that you're behind the wall.
