Mahito Yokota, one of the 2 composers of the Super Mario Galaxy 2 Music (or someone using his name) has uploaded the complete OST to his YouTube channel!

Edit: Whoever it was, it wasn't the real Mahito Yokota. The account has now been removed.

So is it really him or just an imposter looking for an excuse to encourage music piracy?

I thought the same thing. It's quite weird for a company to put their own music up for free on the internet. If they release a vinyl OST now, lots of people that would originally buy it now won't do that anymore...

Well it's apparently one of the soundtrack composers who uploaded the soundtrack.
I find it pretty suspect actually, there's like, nothing on the user channel, no details or anything trying to promote SMG2.

Vinyl? I don't see Nintendo releasing it on vinyl, anywhere. That'd be a niche within a niche, as far as markets go. The only place (most of the time) Nintendo releases any of their videogame soundtracks is Japan. Odds are, if someone is enough of a fan to want to buy it, they'll do so whether it's up on that YouTube channel or not. People who collect soundtracks of their favourite videogames like having it on the physical media, with collectible packaging, etc. Also, for the most part, CD quality > youtube audio.

Well I think it's him that's a trend really. For example Turkish equivalent of RIAA uploaded every single music video on YouTube.
