Super Mario 3D Land - Regaining What Was Lost

Coming from a person that had 0 hype for Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 (And barely even played them).

I fucking want this game, now

My excitement for this game has steadily increased after seeing more and more. At first, i was a little thrown off at E3 by the new camera style they chose. I quickly got over that though because it makes the most logical sense for a more pure 3D Mario platforming experience IMO, one that melds the 2D elements with a full range of movement. Now my interest has grown even more, now that i've seen more gameplay. I thought at first we'd only see 2-3 different style of worlds, but now we've seen all sorts of archetypes. And the levels themselves look really well designed. Guess i should expect no less from the Galaxy team.

And lest i forget the 3D effect- looks like it'll really enhance the depth precision in platforming and look really stunning. I watched the E3 trailer on my 3DS in 3D, looks tight! Can't wait for it, this'll be among my games i play during the holidays and it looks like it may take the gold!

They have definitely tweaked this since the time I played the demo at Hyper Japan. I found mario moved too slow, with too much weight, and the way he jumped felt like the momentum wasn't right. Watching this video, it is clear to see that Mario is moving more fluidly. I definitely looking forward to seeing more

Nope. It's not gonna be a Mario 64 2, it's gonna be a Super Mario Bros. 3D. Miyamoto wants to stress that.

It's being made to feel like a 2D Mario.

AWESOME! At first I was thinking this was goning to be like Mario Galaxy 3D but now its much more safe to say that this will be using an orginal concept

I was going to buy this after KI but it looks like i'll be buying both in the same day :3
The best part is that the 3D will play an active role in the game and not just making pretty or easy to aim!

I think that since I started playing the Mario franchise from 64, that I find myself not really anticipating this one as much as I did with Galaxy and 2.

I'm not one to normally complain about Mario, but it seems like they are trying to dumb Mario games down (in terms of gameplay, not difficulty) rather than let them evolve.

Watching the video, it got to that small room with the star coin and I was like wait....what? when he fell through the block, but all was made clear once the button had been pressed

very clever i thought.

Has gone higher on my (growing) list of 3DS games, at this rate i won't have the spare cash for the PS Vita.
