Wow, that was a really cheesy and arrogant trailer IMHO. Deepest handheld RPG EVER?

I seriously doubt that.

Should be a decent DS RPG though. It's quite a beautiful game at least, using 3D character models on flat 2D backgrounds similar to the PS1 Final Fantasies. The game has been out in Japan since last year. It's coming to the US on March 17, and surprisingly, 5 days earlier in Europe on March 12.

well it's deep in character development, and from what i read, there is over 100 playable characters with backstories

... a "rich online community"? Decent looking anime cutscenes, and the costume style does remind me of the old ones. This could really work.

sa1amandra, as per Suikoden, there are 108 "characters" you can use in battle, and they do all have at last some degree of backstory.

Yes, Suikoden games will always have at least 108 characters (Though, usually not all of them are playable but a majority of them are). I hope this one is just as good as its predecessors, but I'm a little disappointed that it'll take place in an alternate world/universe instead of the usual Suiko world though.
