Should I buy it online? or should I just go an electronic store like best buy to get it? I am sorry if this is noobish, but I am not good at deciding which is the best option. Also, if I have a D2pro, do I need to update it if I didn't solder it to make it region free?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kevin

Vertabim 16x DVD+R/ DVD-R is what i use. The wii can only read 6x so if 8x is cheaper get that. however both will work.

What the hell are you talking about?

The 16x write speed of a disc has nothing to do with how fast the Wii can read a disc.

Since this is in the Wii section I assume these are for Wii games. If that is the case you would probably be better off with DVD-R.

If you live in the West Coast Frys has 100 packs of retail box HP +r and -r for 20$

DVD-R? I'll take your word for it ^^
The write speed doesn't actually effect the gameplay overall does it?

Nope. If you could find them 1x DVD should work the same as 16x.

Thanks Ciper, but I need to know, what is the difference between DVD-R and DVD+R?

They are slightly different methods of writing to the media. Half of the big names in the industry support one while the other half support the other. In my mind DVD+R is technically superior but DVD-R is almost always more compatible especially with older hardware.
The +R has better error control, is more stable at higher speeds and is most stable during writing while -R are slightly larger, came out five YEARS before +r and are the only format backed by the DVD Forum.

Neither one is better overall so it depends on your goal. Specifically for the Wii I'd use -r unless you have a drive firmware and burning software that lets you modify the +r dvd to look like a -r.

A bit confusing but I trust you [IMG]
Would you care to explain the difference I should notice if I used DVD+R instead of -R? Sorry for the questions, I guess you can say I am still a bit skeptical about the differences between the two -.-

I buy mine from Circuit City whenever they have the better brands on sale. Right now my favorite brand are TDK, and as for +R/-R, I have used +R in my Wii and have had no problems... But the only reason I used those was because I already had them on hand.

I'll just buy the DVD+R then...since he said it was newer -.- But I still don't get the point of getting the DVD-R =/
