Because the kernel exploit wasn't released then...dohhhh, when I bought it (19.06.2020), it's not released even now, maybe it's fake news. As a proof, there were exploits that worked on a higher version and not on a lower one. Look how long it took when there was kex for 5.05 and those stuck on 5.03, because of the Blu-ray problem, remained without kexploit for some time. The fl0w maybe knows that an exploit it's not easy to find and to create and he likes to do half of the work.
Also they told us to stay on 6 or 6.2, not 6.7. I just wanted to help people, not to just post. So, if you have something useful to say, say it, not just to post here weird replies and not useful. I can always return it, but money isn't a problem and I like to have a limited ed for me and for new games. I want just not to repeat something like in 2018, when I had the opportunity to buy a modable ps4 pro and I bought a xbox one instead.

Now I have ordered a ps4 pro fortnite bundle to hope, and I will mod my old slim (if it's not fake news) and sell it to compensate for money.
I was always using a modded console and a not-modded one for certain games. Money isn't a problem for me and I can buy games (not very expensive but here you can get for maximum 30 usd almost every new game, if you know where to search).
Even so, I have my old 5.05 phat but few time for games. We have great return policies, because the retailer is a direct partner from SONY and you can change the product without reason as many times you want. In the past they were testing consoles, now SONY isn't letting them anymore. And you can take it home and to return it if you don't like.
They are also selling consoles with 4 or 6 years total warranty (optional) and this is great.
PS: maybe I wanted to play tlou 2, not to sit like a crying child
)) and updated / if the kex news weren't, I would sure not had the thought to keep expensive consoles to get dust. Update and play. Simple.

I have two PS4 Pros. One on 5.05 (7100) and one on the latest firmware (7200) for games so I'm never in a rush for a new exploit. Also, fake news? you do know the exploit has actually been released and Specter for the past 4 days has been doing live streams of his work. Last night he managed to cause the webkit to crash and has access to memory addresses with arbitrary code.
why are you guys buying newest consoles model.I don't really understand that, get a older model and that's it.

Ideally nobody will know for sure unless they own the exact bundle. Its better to avoid speculation getting these consoles. 7.02 debuted in Dec 2019, but I don't work for Sony so I don't know how these consoles are timestamped with FW's
GOOD NEWS: my PS4 pro 1 TB Fortnite Neo Versa Bundle just arrived home now by the courier and the OFW is 6.70, also like tlou 2 bundle. You can safe buy it!
Don't forget to NEVER connect it to the internet, just to be safe and never put and launch games with a higher update on the disc. Also, modify the settings to not automatically update the software or games.

Many people will make an excuse and say I accidentally updated my PS4 to latest version FW. SMH.

SONY is especially putting the automatic settings to update the console and the games...
So, never connect it to the internet, simple. But a lot of people will ask later about 7.51 kex or even for new versions. The world is full of stupidity and people without know-how.
But, even if they will avoid this, someone will update it or they will put inside a game. And that game will update the console...
What is the best the practice to connect your PlayStation to the internet without not getting automatic update?
Why do you want to use the internet on a PS 4? Because on lower versions, you can't use PSN. For now, it works on 7.5, even if 7.51 is the new update.
You need to take every line from the settings, find those settings with automatic update and to deselect them. Simple. But you can use a PC, a phone or something for the internet, not a console...
And to keep an eye for some pop-ups asking to update. I think that you will need the internet to cache the new kernel exploit or to use an esp module instead, but don't connect it to the internet. Simple.
It's more ok to have a xbox one x for games that aren't working on a modded ps4. That console can't be modded and you will benefit of new games and superior graphics. And a modded ps4 for most of them.
In the past, a modded ps3 on internet could update games. ps4 can't. But I think that in the future you can use update files.
So, there is no reason to have it connected. Why? The purpose of the kernel exploit is to have lower firmware.

I just tried 2 new consoles from Walmart: both Models CUH-2215B - Both on Firmware 7.02
I got a CUH-2215B from Best Buy - Firmware 7.5
I also found a PS4 Pro at Target, Model CUH-7215B - Firmware 7.02
If you don't already have a 6.72 console or find a used one, you are probably SOL...
I might roll the dice with the 7.02, but probably won't. Oh well.
For those familiar with this kinda thing, anyone have any confidence that 7.02 will ever be implemented? It sounds like most here are confident in 6.72, but seems kinda wishy washy for 7.02.

At first I tried the route of finding bundles and messaging Ebay sellers what firmware they're on, then I just decided to buy a 5.05 used. Got it and I can play games now (even if they're old).
@JayGamr98 if not retail you might be lucky with some pre-owned systems that are in pawn shops. Probably not all shops want to deal with electronics but you never know, maybe they got some old systems. Also not sure how it's done on the US but maybe there are some auctions of repossessed items that were claimed by a bank or loan firm due debt. It's all kinda allot of hassle but that surely is some option to find a system with older firmware

This is the reason I have avoided the normal boxes and also avoided the limited ed of the tlou 2 box (even if I have found one with 6.70).
Maybe you bought resealed or tested.
You can ask the sellers to give to you a box from the back. Like from an old supply stock.
For 7.02, they need to find firstly a webkit exploit. I think that they will find it, eventually. But don't wait for it. Go for a maximum 6.72 one.
Maybe SONY is starting to retire some boxes and to supply them with new ones. They did it in 2018 in my country. They managed to get all of them back (from the entire country!!!) in the winter of 2018.
If someone is from Romania, I can provide links to order good consoles, below or with 6.70. They still have. And I don't think that SONY will retire them before the release of the exploit.
You have here plenty of info to get one.
EDIT: for who wants, I can buy from here a console and to send it to you with a courier or with the post. I think that UPS is a good choice.

i dont know why tv manufactures put the hdmi ports in dumb locations so the cables have to stick out, and then down, putting strain on the ports. Instead of having the ports along the bottom edge of the tv facing downwards. -

I downloaded XP on dialup when it came out. Overnights for like a week. cuz I couldn't tie up the phone line during the day. It was so awesome and worked so great going from ME to XP.
