Because unfortunately the only hacker that said he has a Kernel exploit for any firmware >4.05 has a bad reputation of talking too much and never releasing anything at the end.

They don't want Sony to patch the exploits.
So after
a) sony patches the exploit in an update so there is no need to keep it secret anymore
b) they find a new better exploit on even higher firmware so they can release the previous one

I think after the release of 5.50 fw its a good time for him to release and then start working on the new fw. With 4.05 the games that are supported are less.

you need to search on 3 items : SKU + PN + SN
in EUR we need to search for CUH-7016 / PN-27452400 under SN : S01-631xxxx
it seems that some people report that it's ok under S01-634
i don't know if PN is the same in US ?
