I am not taking credit for this brick, since it wasn't directly my fault. But well trying to repair my friend's Wii, it ended getting bricked. It was already extremely fucked up before I got to it, so my repair just ended up trying to undo everything he did. Sadly, it caused it to look the entire NAND.

not exactly a brick, i suppose, at least not exactly what a lot of people would call a brick, but similar...

own a playstation 2 that i paid somebody to install a mod chip into. eventually the mod chip stopped working. opened the console, saw that one of the chip's wires had come loose from the motherboard. don't have much soldering experience, but no big deal just putting one wire back onto a broken solder joint. plugged the console into AC power without completely reassembling the case. wanted to test the chip first. not such a good idea. touched the power button. loud pop, something smells burnt, console won't power on. searched around in the console with a flashlight, noticed that a removable fuse on the power supply looks like it's burned.

went to electronics hobby store with burned fuse, asked guy to help me find a replacement for it. he asks what machine the fuse came from. i tell him it's from a playstation 2. "REALLY? HOW IN THE WORLD CAN YOU BURN A FUSE IN A PS2???" i'm like "ummmmmm, uhhhhhhhhh. yeah... well..."

went home and placed the new fuse in the ps2. assembled the ps2's case completely before trying the power. thankfully it powered on just fine, and the mod chip was also working right again.

my friend and I drank copious amounts of alcohol and ran over a package outside his house that was apparently a PS2 he'd ordered online the week before. does that count?

Christ are you serious? I couldn't deliberately come up with a better story if I tried. Sorry about your mate's PS2 but man that is hilarious

I've never bricked any of my systems. But then again, I don't fiddle with them as much as others on here, I don't care about custom themes or switching over to faster exploits (still on menuhax as opposed to A9LH with my N3DS) so I just don't run the risk.

Once I thought I bricked my Wii because it would switch on and the TV screen would just remain black. Disconnecting it from power and plugging it back in did the trick, oddly enough.

There's hope for a Xenosaga port.

I've bricked my friend's Xbox 360 by throwing a brick at it.

Does that count?
Well, if that kind of thing counts, I had a friend that "bricked" his 3DS by using it as an MP3 player and refusing to stop doing so even under a once in a decade awful storm below the open sky with it just soaking in his pocket.
Lesson learnt, devices don't just turn water-proof to cover up for your negligence.

Wasn't paying attention one day and turned my PS3 on while it had the e3 flasher installed along with a fsm dongle in the USB port because I thought that was my normal USB for some reason. Long story short, my PS3 was prema-bricked because of that mistake. Lesson learned. Don't use fsm dongles.

I have no idea. After I flashed the stock firmware, it just went dead.
I've done a ton of firmware/rom flashing in my days, I've soft bricked a ton of times, but never while reverting to stock! that's... wow....

on-topic: I bricked my first Wii by screwing up somehow. I do believe I was trying to install an IOS at the time... can't quite remember, but it was a really stupid mistake

I bricked my n3DS while following the original process of getting the OTP. After I unbricked the 2.1 emunand and flashed it to sysnand, I just got a black screen on boot. I must have made a mistake in the hex editing as this process was all manual then. Luckily I have a hard mod so it wasn't permanently bricked. Still stupid though :P

The Greek dub of Toy Story's You've got a friend in me is still a classic even among boomers who've never watched the movie, mostly because it was sung by a famous beloved Greek singer
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
Also his choice was quite interesting since his songs are anything but family-friendly
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
If anything, some of his songs were so controversial that he got troubles with the law regarding "blasphemy laws" in Greece.
