Hacking Stupid question - How to get to 4.2

Sorry for the stupid question, but what's the safest way to get 4.2 and keep all the functionality of 4.1 - SD card Menu, usb loader, homebrew channel, channel creation . . .

I have tried the app that updates channels (WSU I think) I keep getting a "http" request error around IOS 38 (I think).

Well, safe? Nintendo Update then remod using Zeros guide. Works like a charm.

I have the latest HBC, I (right now) can use a USB loader with rev 14 and 249 . . .

upgrade to the latest hbc, have cios rev 14 installed, use the 4.2 safe updater, install a patched ios 70 (patch with dop ios or freethebug, or get one). Numerous other threads for the details.
