...and I shouldn't be because this is my second one I've used the guide for.

I have a older wii that is updated officially to 4.2. I have got the HBC installed, but I'm having an issue with the instructions on the Complete Softmod guide, specifically when it comes to reinstalling the trucha bug. The guide says the following:

Removing Stub IOSs

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are on 4.2 (official update), there will be some unwanted (stub) IOSs on your Wii. Let's get rid of those first.

If you exited out of DOP-Mii, boot it again and press A to get to the Main menu.

Now choose the Top option (IOS: 36) and press A.

You will see another menu. Here, choose the top option again (IOS, BC, MIOS). You will see yet another menu.

Go right to IOS202. Press - to uninstall it. Press A to confirm.
Repeat this for IOS222, 223, 249 and 250.

However, I'm stuck at the bolded bit. There is no option to uninstall IOS202. I've had a look and I can unistall 222,223,249 and 250. The other thing I've noticed is there is a note that all of the ones I can unistall are "Stub IOS's". This wording does not appear on 202. Does anyone have any suggestions how to proceed?

Thanks

(EDITED TO ADD): Because 202 is not showing up as a Stub IOS can I just ignore it, given that this section is called "Removing Stub IOSs"?

Upgrading to 4.2 doesn't install a stubbed IOS202.

222, 223, 249, 250, 254 on the other hand should be deleted, but only if you haven't reinstalled them as cIOS.

Again, Thanks Lee. Think I'm going to have to call it a night. The next step isn't exactly matching with what I'm getting. On the CSM, the table says not to install the following:

Wad name
Reason for move

IOS36-64-v3351.wad
We already installed this w/FakeSign, and we don't want to do that again...

RVL-WiiSystemMenu-vXYZ.wad
We are going to install this with DOP-Mii. Version depends on your choice.

IOS30 / IOS60 / IOS70
These ones are also installed with DOP-Mii (only one of them is installed)

but for me they don't even appear in the "COPY TO SD" directory to move them outside of the wad folder. Nor do I get the option to "Load IOS from SD card" after installing all the WADs.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
