Hello! So as the title says I have a switch stuck on logo. I've tested m92 and replaced It twice, no shorts on it or p13. Getting good values from them as well. I replaced charger port, it's working perfect as well. I replaced bq from donor board, and also reflowed wifi chip. Still nothing past the logo. Then I out under thermal cam and found something very interesting, which could be my fault!

TLDR:
Replaced - M92 x2, BQ, Charge port
Reflowed WiFi Chip
Stuck on boot logo.

The blue circled object gets hot under thermal cam, and beeps on continuity, the other 2 just beep on continuity.

And to add reason, the bq was getting white hot under the thermal cam, so thats why I replaced.

@Raydem This might be worth watching. We both seem to have different causes so I made another thread so I dont hijack yours.

I checked these components ( i don't have thermal camera) but just the resistor in blue is in short, maybe is just a 0 resitor. The capacitors no beeps.

The cap all the way to the left isnt shorted after reflowing the chip, but the other 2 still beep. But now I've taken a closer look under cam and those components aren't getting hot, this area is. I seemed to have scraped it, but i don't understand how it'd create a short

Does anyone have any ideas?

What was the initial cause of the problem? Any liquid damage?

The resistor in blue is connected to joy com, if disconnect it (joy com), it wouldnt get temperature. Maybe the components on the bottom layer? I think light sensor is in this part of the board.

No liquid damage, console just stuck at logo, pulls good amps, seems to fast charge, line 5 and 6 on m92 are good, pulls 5v on cap next to bq, fuse infront of port is good, no shorts on back near p13.

Any idea on how to test those components on the back leg there in the video? I have no knowledge of that area

Can you upload a good picture of the whole board both sides?

Hard to tell but whats all that residue on the board? Theres some on back light connector. I would clean board up with ipa and a toothbrush really good, dry really well and test.
I actually just gave it an IPA bath with toothbrush, ill go for it again.

@Hologram
Quick Question while we wait, do you know if the console will fully boot without wifi chip on the board? If it does, I could always remove my wifi chip and see what happens, I have some preballed ones on the way.

So I havnt taken of wifi chip, but it still gets super hot in that area i showed, seems heat is coming from back of board.

Also, when screen is sitting at logo, if I force a shutdown with power button, it creates a pop noise, which I thought was interesting.

I'm trying to figure out what's on that part of the board that reaches out, I can't seem to find any diagrams, do you have any clue @Hologram @Raydem

The inductor of the BQ2 is connected to the realtek ic voltage, the line is placed in this part. Try to search in the realtek zone.

Soo I have an update as of now hahah, i took off the speaker input and checked the lines, immaculate. I was like there is no way! I restarted my thermal cam...... it was uncalibrated! The BQ is what is getting getting white hot, but can that cause switch to get stuck at loading screen? Also, I had to flip the charger on the other side for it to get hot, any ideas? @Hologram @Raydem

Hello,

Yesterday I changed the M92 and I have the same problem, the pcb is hot in the exactly same part. Also it is stuck. Tonight I will revert the change, and I will change the P13 and If I have time, the wifi ic also.
