Streets of Rage 4 Gamescom gameplay footage, Nintendo Switch version confirmed

Streets of Rage is back, with a brand new game, and a new playable character as well. Developers Dotemu and Lizardcube got to demo their revival of SEGA's beloved beat 'em up series during Gamescom 2019, revealing Cherry Hunter as one of the game's new characters, along with some gameplay and music. The graphics are completely hand-drawn, while the music has been created by the original composers from the classic series. Streets of Rage 4 was also announced to be coming to the Switch, in addition to the previously announced platforms of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. There is currently no release date, though the project was revealed just about a year ago, back in August 2018.

Looks good, overall. The music sounds kinda lame. Not as bad as SOR3, which was an experiment gone bad for Yuzo Koshiro, but still could be much better. The awesome music MADE the first two SOR games on the Genesis. My jaw dropped when I first heard the boss music for SOR1. I couldn't believe the Genesis could deliver such a bass line.

still he could be fit instead of having a beer gut lol, seems like he spent years on the pub just drinking beer, maybe that is his story, after 20 years drinking beer, he finaly needs to go back to work on some bad guys.

Game looks good but the music is bloody terrible. Just like SOR 3. I have to mute that game to enjoy it...I hope there is better composition in this. why do composers have crap tastes in what they create these days. I miss my toe tapping, catchy tunes from the day or style that gets stuck in your head. I love yuzo but I think his time has passed, his tastes has changed and for the worst.

Waaayyyyy to pastel. I remember this game series releasing when Sega used to be dark and gritty. Also I was hoping the sound track would be a bit more dirty and electronic/analog sounding than this. Oh well.

Looks great but the mixing of the audio tracks is REALLY bad, too many highs on the blood fxs, music too low in volume, lacking of warm mid freqs, too many highs freqs are stressing on long sessions.

I loved music in SoR3 personally - its darker and more chaotic tone perfectly complimented the game

Going to shamelessly confess, i've never played a Street Of Rage game before ever, and am not acquainted with the series at all, so perhaps this is my chance to give it a try.
Seems promising and something akin to my favorite NES classic fighting game Mighty Final Fight.
I hope it'll be easy to control and have an easy mode in general.
Streets of Rage 2 is often regarded as greatest beat'em up ever created, so I highly recommend checking it out until the release of SoR4. It's frankly ridiculous how well the game stood the test of time - from top-notch balancing and pacing to having one of the most memorable 16-bit soundtracks out there.
