The thing I'm not wrapping my head around is why they insist on porting Street Fighter IV but aren't porting Super Street Fighter IV? Whatever. If anything I hope this is better than the iPhone version. That was pretty bad.

    Well, that's good that it's a port.

Last I checked, they specifically said this was a Super Street Fighter IV port.

That would make more sense wouldn't it? Oh well. My guess is they'll bring one out after the regular one comes out to make more money.

    This is SSFIV, not SFIV.

Is the guy here talking about the slide pad, or does this mean a multi-touch touch screen?

    Touch screen, I think.
    Definitely not multi-touch, though.

Its already been stated that its a Super Street Fighter 4 port not the original street fighter 4. I'm pretty sure the touchscreen input means, they will have a traditional control scheme and then something where u tap the touchscreen and itll do lets say a hadouken, possibly like bleach DS where u could play the game normally and just tap for special moves. Capcom has a tradition of doing these sort of things on consoles where they want to reach the non-hardcore fans like capcom vs snk 2 on the gamecube, they added that when you move the c-stick and itll perform special moves.

However this is unique for touchscreen to have controllable buttons to move the fighter while doing the special moves. I seem to find a faint flaw inside this gimmick. If the controls where to be use like they claim it will be. The sensitivity of the screens will have to be precise to the touch that the player is using.

I hope the 3DS d-pad is better than the DS lite d-pad otherwise this game is going to suck

There is a "stick" to use. I'd imagine that it'd be better than the D-pad.
Nintendo's D-pad was never designed for fighters...

Boy, will it be cool to have a tiny, compact version of Street Fighter IV to carry around! I can't wait, bwahaha! [IMG]

Wouldn't it be cool if they had a mini fight stick peripheral?

I would love it to death if it was using 2D sprites. I doubt it would though. I know that gameplay can be transfered. As long as that is in tact I'm fine with this port. They should allow the option to play against people online who uses the different modes.

Ehhhh...personally I couldn't really get into any Street Fighter game since 2, but then I'm notoriously difficult to please, unless it involves cheese, cute girls, or monkeys doing something funny. Maybe playing it again on a handheld and thus having more time to sink into learning the subtleties of the game might help. Will be getting a 3DS when I can afford it, will probably pick this up too. But it's not top of my priorities list. That goes to Lylat Wars and Kid Ikarus.
