Hardware Strange Xbox one issue

so I picked up a used "broken" Xbox one the other day. Console was taken apart so I put it back together console turns on and reads discs but the controller will not sync and when I plug it into the USB port it powers the controller but will not let me use it. On a side note a USB keyboard does work strange right? Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you

Could be the connector board for the controllers that's shot.
Atleast, from the looks of it.

Probably the flat cable in the front is damaged.

Got it all working... except the front ribbon cable is totally damaged the sync button does not work but atleast I was able to sync by using a USB cable!
