Hacking Strange signs instead of japanese text

Hi!

I tried to play my back up version of Kururin Squash (NTSC-J) on my PAL Wii using GC Backup loader but the Japanese text doesn't show. I get these strange signs instead (see picture)

And can I do anything to get color? (Except new TV.) Got SSBB NTSC-U in color when the game was new (Can't play SSBB at all now, but don't really care).

I got a YAOSM-chip installed, if that could matter.

This was the same on the Gamecube...

The PAL systems didn't have the Japanese character sets stored internally.
THE US ones did (as they were basically the same machine as the Japanese ones).

Does that mean that thin can not be fixed? Can't I install Japanese characters in any way?

Edit: This is the only Japanese game I have at the moment, and is probably the only one I will have for a while.


I got it in color now! I used NeoGamma and forced PAL

hmmmm i think ther is a fix for it, i read something about with baten kaitos 2 or eternal arcadia/skies of arcadia jp would not show the jp text either, but if you opened up the iso and did something you could fix it... i will try and find the thread
