Strange Cutoff QR Code on back of 3DS

    So I was peeling off my serial number out of boredom and I saw this? I thought it was a qr or something but does anyone know? afterfocus_1365379301376.jpg

    I think that's used during part manufacture.

    But more importantly, why were you peeling off your serial number!?

    I don't think that's exactly a QR code, but it's similar. It's used with factories to quickly scan and catalogue parts as they travel down the line.

    Looks like a Data Matrix code, though my phone can't read your picture.

    They are usually used in small parts like this because of their ability to scale small. Possibly a part number, I wouldn't think a serial number though.
